Game crashing from character select screen

Hi,

The game crashes on the loading screen right after I select my character. The exact error is:

Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft_retail_\Wow.exe
Exception: 0xC0000094 (INT_DIVIDE_BY_ZERO) at 00007ff7a377a56c
ProcessID: 2892
ThreadID: 3032

I’ve updated BIOS and graphics card drivers, repaired the game, removed all mods, and reinstalled, but I keep getting the same error, usually within a few seconds of the character select screen loading up.

Everything worked fine yesterday, but now this is a nearly constant issue. I have a fairly high end PC (Intel i9, GEForce 4090), and it’s all brand new, so I can’t see how it’s a requirements issue. And again, everything’s been working fine until this morning. No idea what else to do, other than request a refund for the early access I’m missing…

Can confirm that this is happening to me too. can sometimes loggin but will crash within 1-3 min with the same divided by zero exception.
Same speccs with 4090 and i9, and everything was working fine until this morning after the patch.

my mage is stuck in lombo when i log on it kicks me off the server but i can use all my other carictors

Having the same issue, crashes started occurring yesterday morning and been having issues that have gradually worsened over time, could play for 30 mins at a time without a crash - now crashing on character selection

not sure if it’s the same error, but also issues with core i9 and rtx 4090 (error during loading screen, or just while playing) sollution that worked for me is to go to energy management in windows (configuration screen - system and security - energy management) if it is set to balanced change it to energy saving. had no more crashes since only downside is that your computer performance isn’t working at full capacity which is kinda stupid. problem started the day prepatch radiant echoes event went live.

hopefully my suggestion works for you too and they fix the issue in the near future so we can run the game with our high end pc at max performance again
