Game does not save last selected realm anymore

Hello,

ever since I logged onto a russian server the game no longer saves the last realm I was logged into.
Everytime I startup wow it now first asks me first to choose a realm (which is even more pointless as the character list does not need one now).

I’ve tried to locally reset my options, but it did not help, and since it now happens on all my different computers I have installed wow on it’s clearly a server side and not a client issue.

Any help here?

Ok, found it out myself after some trial and error. If you stumble across the same issue:

  1. Switch game to russian, log into your russian char
  2. Log out
  3. In the character list choose a char that is not on a russian server
  4. Log in with that char, you will get an error an a disconnect
  5. Close wow
  6. Switch game back to english, now the “western” servers will get saved again
