For all the people who have problems with wow after patch 11.1.7, freezes after alt+tab, green artifacts on addons etc. After a few hours of trying to solve the problem today I think I finally found a fix. The simplest solution is to run the game on Dx11 but that reduces performance, at least for me so the solution is the next one at least until Blizzard solves it. You need to disable the MPO feature, for some reason after the update your GPU crashes when you use alt+tab, so this how you do it: open Registry Editor by typing regedit in your search bar and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm on the right side right click and select New → DWORD (32-bit) Value, name the new value OverlayTestMode, Double-click on OverlayTestMode, and set the Value data to 5 click ok and restart your computer for the changes to take effect. This worked for me and i hope it will help others too.

Using the registry files from here
might be easier for most people if this is the cause.
This has helped once in the past but no longer does. I’ve had MPO disabled for a longer time.

Disabling MPO actually requires a new tweak in registery these days the old method no longer works i believe, so if this worked for you either lucky or believe in placebo’s
MPO makes latency better in borderless games and as good or better then fullscreen exclusive will, as well as better power management, disabling however can fix some problems especially on RDNA2 and potentially RDNA1 for example or older graphic cards.
