Game is unplayable after the patch, constant freezes

As the title says after this update, my game became unplayable. Every 3-5 seconds I get a ~1sec freeze. I literally cannot play the game at all.

  • I have an incredibly high-end PC, performance should not be an issue, ever
  • The issue just started happening, never before this
  • I tried it in Dornogal and other areas (non-combat), but also in M+ in combat, its always happening. Also doesn’t even matter if I move or stay still
  • Tried disabling all addons, the issue persists

I wrote to support, but I fully expect them to just respond with a chat bot that’s gonna help me with my Diablo 4 issues and call me by the wrong name.

Im not seeing anything similar to my problem, on the forums, reddit, ingame, or discords. Im out of options. If anyone has any insight, id highly appreciate it.

In the last few weeks I have also had a few freezes (more or less for a second). Fortunately they have not been very frequent. They have always happened when I was in a group, either in a raid or in a dungeon. As far as I know, it has never happened to me playing alone on my own. I am not sure what the cause may be, but I suspect it is due to some addon (maybe DBM?), since they occurred at the time of the casting of some spell or ability by the boss.

Of note, if you want to completely deactivate an addon, you must delete it from the Addons folder, because even if they are deactivated, the game still loads them even if they are not active.

After the update of this week, I get the feeling that the optimization has gotten worse. Before this update, the performance was very bad in very populated areas or with many players. But this week, I see FPS drops (not very serious) even in old unpopulated areas.

I have had issues for the past week or so uninstalled it and now the damn thing wont install properly keeps freezing at 25% on the updater. Tried everything , uninstall all files and reset router and still no go. My daughter is also having issues with overwatch on her xbox and wont load into game. Internet is not fantastic here but at 50meg download we get no other issues on any other system…

I have seen some people with AMD cards suggesting to disable AMD Anti-Lag as apparently it reduces stutter in some locations.

Try using a VPN. For some reason, some internet providers have issues with downloading updates or even the whole game. Using a VPN solves entirely the problem.
