Still happening for me as well. I repaired my game files yesterday and it worked, now this morning it’s broken again.

What worked for me was just starting WoW from the wow.exe file inside the wow folder instead of the launcher

Same. Did a repair yesterday and it worked. Now it is back to square 1. Clicking “Play” doesn’t do anything - but WOW is running in Task Manager

Same thing this morning.
Cataclysm classic is updating not sure if it’s relevant.
But also got this error popup from World Of Warcraft:

The CAS system was unable to initialize.Tact instance creation failed.

I found this fix from 9 years ago for this error, and it worked for me in the sense that it allowed me to press “Play” without getting the error. It didn’t fix the long boot up bug however

14 minutes after clicking Play the game has launched.

So day 2 of experiencing this bug. It only seems to reoccur after I have completly shutdown my PC.

Same for me . tried to update video card driver, reinstalled BNET (beta and not beta) , reinstalled game. all to no avail… it might let me play 1 out of 50 times I try… you need to fix this blizz. asap.

Can we at least get a “We’re aware” or “Working on it”?

Since we’re paying customers and all…

Same issue here.

This error often occurs when you are updating 1 WoW client while launching the other, have had it happen several time this way.

Just did a scan & repair, which took forever, but after that it actually downloaded something. Might be that blizz already pushed a fix. try restarting your launcher and doing a scan & repair.

Not saying this fixes anything, will try not
Even after a complete shutdown of my pc, wow still started after that. at least on my end , scan and repair did seem to do something , whilst it didn’t before.
Tried multiple reboots , shutdowns, BNET restarts, game has consistenly launched within <3 seconds after the small update i got through scan & repair.
