I started having this issue again after BNET update (this morning) added the additional command line from game settings but it only helped out once and now having slow starts ._.

Same I’ve been waiting for over 15 minutes and it still hasn’t launched. It worked fine yesterday morning but just broken today.
They’ve clearly done something on their end that they don’t have the capacity to pinpoint.

I had a problem at night, before. I updated the battle net. And first threw out of the game, and began to try to get back into the game.

Similar issue here. Playing on a Macbook M1. I’m just sat here watching the WoW app logo bounce up and down on my taskbar

I don’t know if this thread is still active. But I have this often, and for some reason, if I change my internet connection, the game immediately starts up.
So I am on my main WiFi that I use daily, hit play on bnet, game seemingly won’t open.
I change my WiFi connection to a backup one I have, game instance launches immediately.
Says internet connection failed on the login screen, change back to my main WiFi connection and hit reconnect and I’m in.
I can only imagine this problem is an issue with bnet trying to make in internet connection before launch and either your PC is stopping it or Blizzard has done something wrong where its not making this connection immediately.

30 minutes of waiting and it still hasn’t launched. I can still see the process sitting in the Details tab just chilling.

I looked through the posts on the American forums. There doesn’t seem to be such a problem. She. apparently, it only affected the EU servers.

Issue is back. But now repairing the game does not fix it. Started occuring after I updated for the latest retail patch if that has any relation.

Never had this issue but it started right now. Playing MOP Classic. Blizzard please fix this!

I have the same issue, just wait 5 minutes and it will open it.
Just make sure not to cancel it from task manager.
Try spamming the play button until it launches, I clicked maybe 20 times then 1 single instance opened.
Or that was from the button press 15 minutes ago, who knows.
August 12 2025 / At 2 am, the game was working fine, but since the morning the game is not launching at all, it doesn’t even appear on task manager at the moment, I tried scan and repair, uninstall and install back, reset my PC, flush my DNS, reset my internet, open things on administration, close every other application, disable anti-virus and firewall, nothing worked.

One hour of waiting and client still hasn’t launched with the process visible in the Details tab.
Pretty wild they’ve just broken their game like this and there’s absolutely zero communication going on.
When I had the same problem last time, I also pressed the button several times. But then! All the windows opened at once. That’s not good either.

Same problem here, can’t play classic since this morning.
The game just launched out of nowhere after like 15-30 minutes while I was playing something else.
