Game not launching

I didn’t play for long. Disconnect, and I can’t log in again. We’ll have to wait for it to be fixed.

It’s happening on classic and retail. Battle.net issue, same on the US forums too. Just got myself a brand new PC, so I thought it was an issue with that. Glad to see I’m not the only one. I’ll expect a fix in about four weeks or so

Same Problem, WoW.exe is in Task Manager 0% CPU usage, nothing happens. This is a reaccuring Problem. They fix it, drop an Update a month later and it breaks the WoW launcher from opening again im so sick of this. Get it fixed for good, how many times they have to mess this up

I’m not asking for a way to solve it, as they have all been covered in that thread already. I’d just like a confirmation that this is being looked into instead of passively waiting for the AV companies to update it on their side in the blind faith that it’s the cause of it (even though every single exception was turned on yet it still failed).

For the record, I use bitdefender. None of them in that thread seems to use it, which is yet another AV on top of the many AVs listed in that thread.

Seems the launch issue that we had like a month ago is back. Can’t launch the game either. It creates an instance in the task manager but nothing happens. Same thing for Anniversary

Retail seems to launch just fine tho. But who cares about that

Funny thing is that by going through what people have been saying both here in the EU forum as well as in the US, not everyone is affected by the same games not launching. For example, retail works for some, but not for others. Anniversy works for some, but not for others.
MoP Classic from what I could tell is the most common one for people to suffer from this problem with.

Anyway, it’s pointless to go through the steps when this is affecting so many people. They’ve already gone through everything imaginable over in that US thread to try and fix it, and while it worked for some it wouldn’t work for others in that thread.

I just made this thread to ask for confirmation from a Blue about whether or not it’s being looked into. It’s important that issues like these becomes part of the “Known issues”-list.

I tried it just now half an hour after making this post, and it launched the game with a few seconds delay compared to what’s normal.

9950x3d, 4090 OC Eva-02, and samsung ssd 990 pro with just a little shy of half its storage space still left free (4tb drive). Just sharing the tech info of this for the Blue to collect statistics about. Tried with both the previous w11 version (hadn’t updated yet) and with the latest, both of which failed.
I tried to scan and repair before both attempts. And of course, the whole exceptions thingy.

Anyway, I hope Blues can confirm that it’s being looked into.

game wouldn’t open for me either, turned mullvad vpn off and it opened straight away so if you use some vpn you could try to turn it off

Having the same issue, went to scan and repair, and it was greyed out, had to delete the battle net cache folder just to scan and repair, which didn’t work either

Having the same issue, and have tried the various fixes.

It will just randomly open after a bit. This is the same issue we had a while back.

Same for me… Worked like a charm last night, went to bed and now in the morning it wont launch.

It seems to have fixed itself tho so I guess patience is the key? Only took 2 hours to launch the game

Same for me this morning, game was running fine last night. Actually the game finally launched, it just took three to five minutes to start where it usualy is almost instant on my system.

Same issue as just over a month ago, just hanging process in task manager. Last time Scan and Repair helped, this time it didn’t change anything. However I ended up letting the process hang out while I was browsing this forum and it DID launch itself, after about 4-5 minutes.

sooo anyone got it fixed yet? as of now i tried everything the internet and you guys suggested multiple times, still nothing. Did see the game coming up in task manager a few times at 0% usage though but stull nothing. Soooo I got in contact with battlenet too and basicly i excausted all the custumor support steps in which case they suggest ‘ask the forums or your internet provider. and In some cases, resolving the issue may require specialized tools or deeper technical investigation beyond what we can provide through standard support channels’. and thus i got curious if any of you found out something new to try or know where these specialist are that they are reffering to hah

After working for 2 weeks, issue is back again as of this morning.

So i use multiple accounts in WoW and i have had zero issues until this morning.

I am having the same as above, severe issues with clients opening. I managed to log into 1 account, clicked “launch” on the second and set a timer, and its literally just opened up the 2nd game window now while i was looking at the forum and found this thread, after 12 minutes.

but it hasnt actually logged into the game, its at the screen you normally by pass and its asking me for Battle net account name and password, which its not accepting…

No amount of dancing around the issue will help. The problem must be addressed by the Blizzard

Same issue, game is absolutely bricked. No idea what they’re playing at.

At night, it would start after at least 5-7 minutes. Now it doesn’t start at all. I’ve been waiting for 15 minutes, but nothing has happened!

By the way, it looks like I have a problem with the classic version. For example, the retail version started without any issues. But… I wonder how long this will last.

Having the same issue. What works for me is pressing “play” as often till an instance get actually opened.
The dosnt show up in Task Manager. But when one instance is running and i tap out it shows multiple instances i can tap through.
