Same problem…
I’ll just add: disgust and disgust Mr. Blizzard, it’s “amazing” how you’ve been solving problems lately. Any compensation? For now, it’s more like masking the problem…
Btw: I agree 100% with bro Knockuout: “It’s absolutely vital that problems as large as this, ends up on the list of known issues in order to highlight the awareness of it happening.”
I’ve had the same problem with it delaying launch, on and off for a few weeks, until today, when it stopped launching at all. To resolve my issue I am having to turn of windows Defender Firewall.
Disconnect the Internet - press the play button - the game will start - turn on the Internet and manually enter the login and password.
IT WORKS!
A wild Social contract appears… after finally logging in.
Sorry Blizzard we wish to play the game we pay for.

same ive reinstalled the game and uppated all my drivers, changed everything and nothing works. after restarting a clean install it wont start again.
This worked for me, not an ideal solution as it then forces the 2FA dance also.
same here since today game won’t lauch!!!
Open windows power shell from Admin
type:
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Block WoW Slow IPs" dir=out action=block remoteip=137.221.64.0/24

Well that worked. made me go look at the process manager to see the TCP calls and yup wow tries to make a request to 137.221.64.0/24 and just doesnt get a response.
I assume by blocking it in the firewall we bypass it and go to the backup and the backup route works.
So either its a server issue (doubt as the backup works) or a routing issue (more likely) on Blizzard’s end.

Hi there! Any chance anyone knows how to do this on MAC?
Tipps appreciated!
If a mobile service provider stopped connecting your calls for this long they would be out of business already. This is ridiculous.

Wow… I opened a ticket earlier today, and the only response I had was some mindless copy+paste telling me to adjust in-game settings… and they marked the ticket as Resolved and I cannot reopen it, despite the final response telling me I can reopen it.

Hello all
Our engineers have completed some work overnight that may have fixed or mitigated this issue.
Would you be so kind as to remove any firewall/network rule created to block Blizzard IPs and try launching the game again?
Works consistently without problems for me atm, with no exception in bitdefender for it (as is the norm for me, except when doing the trial & error during this mess), and I never blocked the IP range to begin with.
Same behavior on my side. Still unable to launch the game.
I tried the steps outlined here, but my WoW process stops at loading KernelBase.dll and then constantly spawns new threads to profile a process. No network connections being made, just stuck
Yes, returning just to say that yes, this is still happening. I have managed to launch game 3 times since patch day, using a variety of the “techniques” discussed everywhere. If you do manage to launch, my advice is to keep game running. Logging in (for me) wasn’t the issue, it is launching the game. But my habit is to exit, so I’ve done that by mistake twice now. Today another two hours wasted trying to launch again…

Yeah, still happening. Like every 10th try - spaced in time - I can log in. Most of the time, no.
