Game performance getting worse and worse

It’s neither of these, no. I know of people with SSDs suffering the same problem (even people in this thread giving examples) and as I already stated I’ve already tried loading addon-less.

Ultra is a bad idea tbh. Try dropping down to 4 or 5 to see if that makes a difference. Look at all of the possible bottlenecks, Memory, Drives, drive accessing background programs, addons. Even your web browser with multiple wowhead pages open will gobble up resources. Dont even mention downloads and unzipping

The sad case is as hardware advances lazy programming is employed instead of efficient.

DLSS/FSR is the single worst thing to happen for game developers. They rely on that instead of optimizing their games.

I have updated tot he latest one just recently in part because the one I was running on was from Sept last year lol.
So far everything appears to be functioning correctly.

I am running on a Ryzen 3700x with a Rog Strix O.C. 3080 12Gb, Samsung Evo 870 SSD and although it makes no difference, 32Gb Ram.

I say things appear fine, lol. I run everything on Ultra (even in raid) but when I get o valdrakken, omg my fps just sinks and yeah you notice the lag.

I’m using an SSD and-but I’m noticing the game getting comparatively slower each month. As I’m playing little, but a big rotation across all my chars.

Late December the dragon would just land on the pillar, extremely consistently, before the character list UI shows up. Now it’s noticeably longer, by 1-3 seconds, didn’t count.

Now when the game loads, I usually have a couple seconds of complete freeze as well.

The issues may be related to some silly Windows Update as Blizzard games have a tendency to stutter for a short while now, and I had a bad run in November when I was actually expecting my PC to expire as Heroes completely froze a few times. Turns out it was just the game, not only because the music player kept on going, but eventually the screen lock expires and I could alt-tab out and just terminate the process, otherwise everything just fine.

Ohh i think that’s “normal” WoW is truly badly optimized.

Can’t expect much from small indie company.

I can reach my cap FPS of 200 until i reach Valdrakken. There’s it’s barely 70-80 with sometimes dropping down to 50-60. Even in raids i have around 165-170.And even my CPU temps jumps so my cpu fan starts going above 40% usage.

Im playing on 4k,but even downscaling to 1440p doesn’t help.

Yeah Likewise, my fps is typically 130-150, until I get to Valdrakken. Even inside of raid I can have consistent 75 FPS with everything going off.

Afaik most people struggle with fps in valdrakken when its filled. There’s been previous forum threads about this with a consistant 30-50fps for most people no matter the setup. My rtx 4070 ti performs no better either.

My computer is a very malnourished potato at this point, not very encouraging to hear that good machines are are struggling as well.

Going anywhere near Valdrakken tanks my frames to the point that I get flashbacks of how slow my aunt’s battered old Windows 98 computer was.

144 fps on max settings, where ?
Because on my 4090, i7 12700KF, 32 gb DDR5 + SSD, I’m getting ~90 fps just outside valdrakken, and about 50 in valdrakken.

I got a positively ancient system by today’s standards - ryzen 5 3600, gtx1660 super and 16gb ram@3200mhz. Im limited to peasant mode 1080p so capped at 60hz. windows are installed on an nvme drive and i get occasional stuttering, the odd split second freezing. Not sure if its the new UI tampering with addons, but not really a game breaking issue for me. Get a solid 60fps except with the world boss

Get the same with a much worse pc, 3070ti and 3600x. Looks like it’s just wow related, very top end pc, and mid range get same fps no matter the settings.

I’ve statted getting nasty stutters in raids and open world too. Everythings updated and running fine, dunno who’s coded DF but it’s a mess. 50-60fps in vLd and 90 just outside as well. Checked last night in legion on my way to court and was chilling at nearly 300fps in dalaran.

It’s obviously something to do with the amount of people near by. But why that should absolutely tank your dps is beyond me. Could maybe understand if 100 people were spamming skills, but most are standing doing nothing lol.

I wouldnt say thats ancient. The Ryzen is still a beast. I would say your biggest limit there is your gpu.

Yeah in Valdrakken I am getting 45-50, outside in like Tyrhold im at 85 - 95 depending on who is farming where

i have no idea i noticed now on logging i m not anymore Freezing so i belive they are working on it… Dunno!

Have you tried to disable addons? For example, RIO takes a long time to load, and it may also be interfering with the game past the load screen.

And more RAM in my case I’m getting fps drops i discovered this recently cause i have only 8 gigs of ram games nowadays started to tax memory.

This might sound dumb or unrelated but Ram can be an issue.

Nah, I’m getting the FPS drops as well.

I’ve got 32 gb ram. My game is on a SSD drive as well.

Blizzard messed something up with this patch.

Hmmm  you have SSD aswel i see and alot of ram i guess it’s only me been lately receiving out of memory wow errors while playing wow for a month now while being in valdraken and out in the DF world.

Also my fps been dropping even though i have ok GPU so yeah it might be on Blizzards end.

Even on their other games like Diablo 2 ressurected aswel.

You’re legit running out of memory, my computer has quite the buffer before I run out of memory. WoW has been taking up towards 10 gb at times for me, idk why. It’s usually at less than 5k but lately I’ve found it sitting at 10 gb sometimes.

my fps is getting worse and worse. court of stars is probably the worst.

while i dont have a massive power house of a fps, i feel like its unwarranted how bad performance have gotten in dragonflight.
