My game keeps reinstalling after a pc restart.
- Opened BNet
- Thought there was an update, but it was installing the game again
- Found a few posts about rebooting triggering this again
- Rebooted to test, it started reinstalling from scratch
- Couldn’t find solutions elsewhere
Additional:
Had no problems playing last night, even after reopening the game several times.
Thanks.
Heya,
Could you check the location that the game is installed? It sounds like it might be installed in a temporary drive/location, that gets cleared out with a restart.
Have a few seconds to spare? Let me know how I’m doing!
C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle. net\Battle .net .11206\
There’s also two other files with seemingly the same contents:
Battle.net.11266
Battle.net.11346
It’s not fully installed again, yet.
My BNet file is also set to ‘read-only’ should this be the case?
That would be the location of the Blizzard Battle.net Desktop Application, is your World of Warcraft installed into the same location?

Sorry.
I just had similar happend to me with sounds going at first all wonky then models started going bad to… exited the game and it began to redownload, killed my bnet and rebooted and it resumed, closed it down again and went to %appdata% using alt gr + R and deleted the battlenet folder after killing the processes, then i rebooted and logged in once again, no download and ran a repair on the game, ended up having to download about 1.9-2.0 GB after that it seemed fixed, i do not know what happend but could be a solution to yours.

I’m going to try reinstalling the app, once the game has finished downloading.
( @ZileáYour way didn’t work for me btw. I logged in, it detected the full game, and then when it opened fully, it said “updating” and uninstalled WoW again completely. lol)
Now doing a fresh install of everything. It worked.
I have no idea what caused this though.
