My friend’s game time expired 4 days back and he is still able to login and play as usual. no gold has been deducted, no active subscriptions… no monetary transactions whatsoever, what does this? is he breaking some rules? will he be penalised for doing this? he is quite unsure… is this some sort of free game time blizz is giving everyone because of the shadowlands delay? pls suggest what to do
EDIT : Another friend has the same benefit - game time expired 24 hours back and still able to play ! whats going on with the free game time : /

Most likely auto subscription kicked in.
No one will penalize him if there is an error on Blizz’s side.
what does auto subscription mean? he has no subscription plan
There is no way for me to view his status, usually if you open B-net and hover over the button right next to “play” he can view his current status.

If in doubt, you should contact customer support. If something feels wrong, it probably is.
His current status beside the play button shows " subscription expired click to setup subscription"
and his last transactions show a wow token purchased on the 9th september
My friend had the opposite issue. He paid and wasn’t allowed to play for 2 days, but it never actually pulled any money from his account either. (it just reserved it)
It seems like there’s been some odd bugs going around both with logging on to the servers, lag, general payments, etc.
I mean, there was even the bug where people with merged servers experienced their characters having been reverted to low level characters, old characters being undeleted, gold gone, etc.
GMs fixed it for these individuals, but there are some odd bugs going around - none the less!
@Illuminus: Does your friend happen to be below level 20? Because characters of levels 1-20 are playable without game time (at the moment, do not know what the level limit will be once prepatch goes live).
Nah, its a full account. he is 120. its not a starter account for sure. he is in nyalotha right now
He is worried, if blizzard might roll back his time played during this free time - he spent some gold on buying achievements etc.
Blizz will not roll back an account for that.
