Old dead content i know but that’s half of what i do in wow and one achievement i need is to complete 1000 ship missions. For which i want to make an optimal fleet however there is no way to decommission a ship, losing missions also does not lose any ships (don’t know if that is working as intended). Right clicking on a ship on your fleet page and selecting decommission will open a small window with ‘yes’ and ‘no’ clicking yes does nothing until you click it 5 or 6 time which simply closes the small window and not doing anything. my ships are all max exp/level whatever and addons on and off makes no difference.
You can decommission ships once you have the maximum number of ships.
If I remember right, during WoD there was a hotfix which prevented ships from getting destroyed outright if the success chance of the mission was 90% or higher. So try to suicide the ships on low success rate missions.
Tip: if you haven’t got the heirloom rings remember to kill the rare in Tanaan for Ghostly Spyglass ship upgrade which allows you to get the shipyard missions for the heirloom rings (Admiral Taylor’s Loyalty Ring and Captain Sander’s Returned Band).
Also, if you don’t have the turtle mount from fishing (sea turtle) you can equip fishing nets to your ships as they have low chance of getting it.
You cannot, that’s the issue i am on 10/10 ships i know what you mean because when i was on 9/10 2 weeks ago it said i can’t decommission a ship until i have a full fleet but since then i am on 10/10 + max level and the decommission confirm no longer works and seemingly hasn’t since at least 2017 going by some old posts on reddit and such
I have been sending every ship on all kinds of losing missions from 30% and up they still remain even after losing the mission.
-edit just lost a 34% and the ship was lost so i guess low % mission losses have a chance to lose your ship. so currently the only way to get rid of ships is to be unluckily lucky
Pumping this up.
This is ridiculous! Years and this hadn’t been fixed.
BLIZZARD! We are paying for this and You have an integer overflow in the UI code.
I have 10/10 ships, no addons enabled and I get a popup about an exception upon confirming that I want to decommission a ship in the Garrison’s shipyard.
Start fixing, writing Your products with quality, give us our money back or open the code to the public so we can put pull requests to Your code. Some of the players actually know how to code.
And I mean NOW!
Yeah, even my support tickets got closed.
I warned them, but they don’t care about that thing, i cancelling my subscription and going to play a competitors game.
Still not fixed.
The ships seem to get decommissioned but there seems to be a bug with the table updating and not showing the changes, even if you close and re-open the map it doesn’t refresh.
What worked for me is when you decomission a ship, close the mission table, hop on your mount, fly just outside of your garrison until the zone name changes then fly back in and go back to the table. The ship should show as decommisioned then. Bascially to get it to update you have to force the entire garrison to reload (which is instanced).
Decommsions do only seem to work if you have 10/10 ships however.
I was resigned to the fact that ships never die and there was no way to decommission them and modify your initial choice of fleet. I had made some bad choices when first building my fleet and I had since unlocked the Awakener but could not add it due to my fleet being constantly full
After running my unalterable full fleet missions for months I noticed I had lost a ship and was down to 9/10. This brought me to this thread, so I guess the suggestion that ships are randomly lost if missions failed at a low enough percentage is probably true.
I tried the decommission and fly out of range and back trick mentioned here, but doesn’t work for me. I’m going to try running some missions deliberately with a low percentage and see if I can reshuffle my fleet this way.
Still not fix
