Gatekeeping as a new player

I am pretty new to WoW, I levelled some characters to max and made a warrior to play with because I enjoyed the theme of it. I did some raids, not too interested, but was really enjoying M+ but then after gearing and all the work I have put into my character I am basically told that I am not “m+ viable” and I should reroll because Warrior doesn’t have bloodlust or CR or other bells and whistles while doing the same damage as other classes?

I was also simply told because there is a tank spec that its not worth ever playing a dps warrior… which means now I don’t get into any groups and when I try to run my own key nobody joins… or a dps might but they will leave because of the wait.

As a new player wanting to do more endgame content this is honestly heart crushing and I know someone who thinks they are smart will come out and say “just find a guild” but it shouldnt really be this way…infact I was in a guild and nobody ever really wanted to join my keys but that might be a bigger issue with the guild itself

I would say; join some M+ communities. There are quite a lot out there who do not care about your spec.
Dont forget Warrior is timing 15’s on Arms and 16’s on Fury. Not too bad. It is very viable for high keys. Just not in the meta for the top top top keys.

Wait for a patch that gives dps warriors something useful (BL or BR) or reroll to another class for M+ if you don’t wanna tank - only thing that works if you want to keep puging like me.

It’s not gatekeeping there just aren’t enough tanks and healers. If you go Prot people will join your key in seconds and you’ll also get much more invites.

Sadly this is how wow is OP, it’s part of their design philosophy to have over powered class spec and dead useless ones

Then jumble them around at some point

Rinse and repeat

Your choices are wait and hope they buff your class /swap to tanking / reroll to another class.

Oh and hope when you re-roll they dont nerf the class you picked by the time you level up, that would be doubly disappointing for a new player

Yeah GG

Stop buying in to hysteria, if you want to play warrior and do m plus then do it.

The only time it matters what class/spec you are is if you want to pursue the title.

Idd, I’ve had a lot of runs with No Pressure, they’re very nice.

Have to agree with this and its just how it is related supply and demand and all that. I had the same problem to a new account trying lfg pvp in shadowlands. Now my evenings were spent nascaring around oribos for hours on end, longest I went without get single game going were 5 hours if you can believe and imagine how that must of been.

I started thinking that if the lfg appears to be only dps looking for heals then Ill just roll a healer myself and try practise healing even tho Ive always played dps since vanil, so what happent I found out I made alot bnet contacts and were suddenly playing the game almost any given time I logged in after I begin healing. I made bunch of characters per season to my goals and even found some dps players who also had heal characters and played some games as dps with them in the end aswell. The suggestion to begin tanking or healing is how it is on this point of the game and it being 20 years old, the dps with exp are there in the systems if one tries to pug, the new dps with no such exp will sadly be just one among 20-50 other people and if there is some with more exp they take them instead. I would also suggest give tanking or healing a try if want get started, or if not then come pvp and stick to soloq formats as bg blitz or shuffle as a dps, that is the only option currently to play end game as new player kinda.
