Should probably exterminate all humans in Stormwind, since there’s Defias killing people outside the city no more than a mile away.
Ignoring the fact that you’re trolling, humans have evolved to not be immediately hostile and eat your toes the moment you approach Stormwind, Murlocs in general on the other hand.
I don’t see a reason that a Guard would not just impale a Murloc if it casually approached the gate.
The people of Westfall would make stew out of it’s eyes. And Murloc Fin Soup is a delicacy too.
Yet whenever I mention on Des he’s eaten murloc fin soup before they’re all surprised pikachu face.
Guy’s posting “Le wholesome chungus”, so yeah, maybe a little.
Humans are the only race with a recipe for murlocs so this is very funny to say.
have been shown on numerous occasions to be friendly, including questgivers.
Maybe they’re a diplomatic ambassador - though I do know humans like killing those too, so…carnival barker for the Darkmoon Faire perhaps? Expert sushi chef come to serve dinner to Regent Turalyon? Just an average merc trying to make his way in the universe?
My vegetarian diet is all that stands between my friends and loved ones from losing all ten toes to my eccentric cooking styles. Every day is a battle and each passing day the struggle grows.
The innate desire for miniscule acts of cannibalism cannot be sated.
Yeah but a guard roleplayer would go all “awh look how CUTE it is!!!” and let it in, guard npcs don’t exist in this roleplay space, didn’t you get the memo?
It’s okay, we know you haven’t roleplayed in the game for over a decade so you might not know, but that was in fact a pretty accurate descriptor.
Y’all really took
and ran with it.
i dunno man you seem far more interested in chasing around after quote unquote us and putting labels when all we do is at best post how we appreciate basic common sense, at worst advocate for it
what are you, some contrarian bro brigade?
I draw the line in gatekeeping
here
this will affect the rp population i think
It’s time to take a firm stance.
My first several interactions with other roleplayers here have more or less all been about how I can’t be a void elf and that it’ll severely limit my ability to participate in the community if I continued on that path. I decided to re-write my character so that he now isn’t, but it felt kind of naff to have done an extensive amount of research of lore that points in the direction of broader acceptance of void elves in the alliance - and then to just run into a bunch of “but we don’t like it so therefore it shouldn’t be done”.
I have plenty of experience under my belt as a roleplayer (I last played actively in Cata, so I consider myself a newcomer here.) in other settings and believe that I can navigate nuances just fine - of course one would meet some resistance or concerns from some characters of some opinions - but I had not expected that this resistance would come from an OOC place.
If by the community you mean Argent Dawn, then it absolutely won’t – whoever told you that was either misleading you or incorrect. Live out your tentacle elf dreams if that’s where your interest is.
That sucks - but you can also re-re-write him so that he is, if you now wish to! Maybe he was using some form of illusion to hide the physical elements of void infusion to pass as a high elf? Assuming that you’re not happy with the character he is now, you might well be and if so then more power to you!
I mean, most people lore wise do distrust the void and the ren’dorei.
But does that mean all avenues of RP will be shut? God no.
You’ll still get a butt load of RP and even IC interactions that are negative can be good fun and character building.
Be purple. Be dark. Be elf.
I concur that whoever told you this was either deliberately misleading you or completely wrong if we´re talking about general idea of RP. If we´re talking about specific areas, such as being able to join certain guilds or take part in some specific public events catered to only some types of character concepts, they were right, but that´s kind of the usual situation for many races. While I´d say picking a high elf over a void elf will allow you to engage with more RP, it´s not like you will be unable to find people to interact with as a void elf (there are even plenty of guilds/communities where being a void elf might be to your advantage).
However, in terms of IC acceptance, I would be very cautious. A problem I´ve seen among many void elf RPers is the notion that void elves are somehow the perfect weapon against the Void and everyone else is inferior when it comes to fighting it (ironic, given that void elves exist because they did dangerous research and got clowned on by Void ethereals), viewing RP and lore through these lenses. So, a human paladin who distrusts void elves isn´t justified in being distrustful, they´re actually logically and morally wrong to do so because void elves are just so perfect in every way and the fact that they don´t get attacked in the middle of Stormwind in the game means everyone loves them.
And while there definitely are people who RP their characters (often paladins) as some weird Deus Vult RL caricatures, with their IC hatred of concepts such as void elves sometimes being fueled by OOC dislike, there are also many whose characters dislike void elves simply because it´s kind of the logical thing to do for a large number of people on Azeroth. And, if these people meet with the OOC view that void elves are widely accepted, it makes sense for them to OOCly disagree.
Roleplayers in general are not allowed to power-emote to kill, but I would still attempt to stomp the bloody thing if it got close to me.
You are soldiers of Argent Dawn! Whatever comes through that gate you will stand your ground.

Whatever comes through that gate you will stand your ground.
A singular vulpera runs through the gate.
I retreat in fear.

They know every place to stab you that wont kill you but will leave you paralysed for life.
Its a valid reaction
