I did not know why it takes so long to increase knowledge points until I downloaded an addon, that showed that drops from gathering is capped at 6 drops for each gathering per week. So I am not allowed to work my butt off, 'cause Blizzard are “censored”.
That’s for all professions, not just gathering.
Caps are there to enforce a reasonable progression, I guess. Otherwise folks who have 24/7 to play would kinda ruin the game for everybody else. The good news is that there are tons of things to do, so you can do other things than gathering, or simply gather on an alt.
It is not too bad. You get 8 KP from gathering, 3 from Weekly and 1 treatise.
And it’s cheap compared to other professions.
