I was wondering if anyone can help me with this, is there an addon that helps with gathering or to optimize the time that one spends looking for resources in the word?
I am currently leveling up Herbalism and i wanted to see or to be able to see the herb icons on the world map.
Gathermate2 + Wowhead data.

Will show you all possible the herb locations on the map and minimap
And then you can throw in Routes if you want to set up an optimized route between each herb node if you wanna go on mindless gathering rounds sometime.

I’d also suggest a Mini Map Alert. It plays a sound or does a flash on your screen (whatever setting you like) once a herb appears on your minimap. You can also make a list of which concrete herbs to track and which not. To mention, it works just the same for Mining, Gas Clouds or Fish Holes. Basically anything that you can track on minimap. With this addon you can safely do other things without fearing that you’ll miss a node if you don’t constantly look at minimap. However, one drawback of the addon is that it affects game performance.
But i only need gathermate2 or i need Wowhead data as well?
Gathermate2 works on it’s own and does not require any outside data. However, that way you’ll start from scratch with 0 map pins and will have to work on your own map.
Downloading external data imports the map pins other players gathered over time. It’s up to you if you want to work on your own node map or use one that is already fully established.
