Will they ever change gathering nodes so they don’t disappear after someone else has used it?
What is the point in making nodes shared if they keep vanishing as you get to them or worse, you harvest them only to be told you can’t loot it…how does this make any sense from a design perspective?
Getting so frustrated finding a rich platinum vein or similar, only see it vanish and get nothing. Literally just makes me want to log off and go play something else.
Hmm well it’s better then it used to be, when someone just had to be a nano second ahead of you to “steal it” now the node at least last for a minute giving more people a chance before it despawns.
They could always just revert the change and go back to the old system, which whould remove OP’s huge issues with the game… Or make the resources fully personal. Heck I don’t really care… Since this is issue are so smal it’s clearly insignificant.
What instead should be looked at are the amounts of materials required or at the very least reintroduce “weeds”.
The current system is decent - and better than the previous one where it promoted being an A-hole (stealing a node when someone else fought all the mobs getting to it pulled).
What I think that could be done is to have a timer animation (such as on some bombs used by bosses) to show it’s about to expire. It could lessen the frustration if you saw it’s about to expire.
Node disappearing at all without anyone near it goes against any sense of reality, like you’re walking towards a node and it disappears, even with timer, makes no sense. Better if harvesting the node made it disappear, and those people that stole your node while you were busy with npc, that’s part of the game, that’s the little interactions, test of humanity, whether they’ll take that node or let you have it.
With the old system, not once did a person see me engaged in combat right next to a node & walk past.
Every single time the walked up, mined it & left.
Which is exactly why the system was changed to a few minute loot - for - all window.
