I’ve been thinking recently (surprising, I know).
Now that Gazlowe is apparently becoming the Trade Prince of the Bilgewater Cartel in accordance to a conversation between him and Thrall where he accepts the position claiming, ‘Goblins go where the money is’, I wonder what implications this has on Gazlowe as a character, the town of Ratchet and The Bilgewater Cartel as a whole.
What is the status of Ratchet? I understand that during the Fourth War the town was serving the Horde and provided a vital stream of supplies even though the Horde according to the mission table were helping the town cover it up. Now that Gazlowe who was the leader of the town has became Trade Prince of the Bilgewater Cartel, does that mean that Ratchet is now under the Bilgewater Cartel, is Gazlowe still in charge? Will it become the main base of the Bilgewater Cartel or will we get lore explaining what happened to Ratchet?
Furthermore, what implications will Gazlowe becoming Trade Prince have on the Bilgewater Cartel? The Goblin heritage questline basically showed us nothing except that Gallywix is trying to take over Crapopolis. This is strange because a faction changing hands in terms of who leads it should be a pretty big deal, especially when it comes to the Bilgewater Cartel which was a Cartel being completely and utterly exploited by Gallywix. Gallywix had his head carved into a mountain in Azshara at the cost of Bilgewater Harbour being left unfinished, Gallywix sent Bilgewater troops and labourers to harvest Azerite across Azeroth and Gallywix had the Goblin slums turfed over so that the Embassy could be built.
I guess my main question is what -is- going on now? Will Gallywixes likeness carved into Azshara be destroyed, will the Bilgewater Cartel run in a fundamentally different way, will Gazlowe rebuild the Cartel from being something completely under the control of whichever Warchief is in power and being exploited the rest of the time.
I hope we get a lore drop on it too, and to be honest a lore drop on what’s going on with other races like the Night Elves. What the status is of everything after the Fourth War. I don’t like the prospect of waiting for the next expansion that will be set on Azeroth and isn’t focused around a new continent to know what’s going on!
