GCD on Divine Shield in PvP

Can we please get rid of it? My hair is falling out from stress because of this bursty SL meta. I use something on 45%, and then die because they burst me down within the GCD.

Yes it needs to be removed, i lost so many games due to it in BFA and SL, in Legion i never had that problem, even when i played without auto bubble some fights.Does not matter how fast your reaction time is Due to GCD you can never activate it and that is bad.

while this is a good idea, imagine other classes pop most valuable defences with no gcd, yeah, and hunters with disgusting fd legendary and so on, making this thing only pala-related is questionable, though

It was like that back before BFA and game felt different in pvp, more enjoyable. BFA was the expansion that introduced theese stupid GCDs on like so many spells.

Deffo agree. Should give us back fast holy light procs as well. Hpala underequipped asf

Yes definetely agree. I play with a chad ret in 3s, and chaddy as he is, he still dies sometimes without bubble. The most painful part of this whole story, is not the fact that we lost the game and rating, but rather the 30 min crying about bubble gcd afterwards. Please blizz fix this thanks

They’d have to reduce it’s duration to 6 seconds maybe but I’d be ok with that. Give us off GCD Divine Shield.

IMO immunities shouldn’t be on the GCD unless they autoproc like a cheat death effect (Like the talent we had back in Legion). There is nothing worse than casting a heal on yourself to survive, only to die in the GCD while you furiously mash your bubble button.

No need to reduce the duration. The only spell that doesn’t allow Hpala to be a complete and utter pushover.

We spend the first 1.5 seconds of Divine Shield waiting for the GCD before being able to do anything. We all want Divine Shield to be off GCD because we don’t want to die while GCD locked. Not because we want to be able to use more abilities while immune which would an 8 second off GCD Divine Shield would provide.

Divine Shiled should be off GCD and last 6 seconds.

if it came off GCD it should still trigger GCD or it will be cheese in pvp more so than rets often already are and yeah agree 6 seconds as trade off.

Does not even supprise me that when paladin players asks for a buff in any form they also instantly seek a compromise with an added nerf. Wild guess its the near 2 decades of conditioning.

Funny coming from a mage. Never dropped from your ivory meta tower.

I main a ret, just post on this mage.

Also what about coming from a mage is making this funny? Now im looking mainly at the Ret specc here as its the eternal underdog in nearly every single aspect when it comes to pvp. Sure it can have strong seasons but it has never ever been the sought after specc by other players. It has never been ā€œHey lets look for a Ret paladin as they would fit the role/ utility we lackā€ and it never will be.

Thats why i find it funny when suggesting a buff in any way shape or form it also comes hand in hand with a nerf to ā€œbalance it outā€ā€¦ Does any other class do this?

Ret Warrior is currently one of the top 3 teams you can play. It was very strong in Wrath, Cata - Vanguards cleave for example. I wouldn’t say it’s forever bad. Right now it’s extremely strong. I think it needs 50% damage nerf while bubbled so people won’t cheese double ret.

Maybe you only play 2s and that’s why your perspective is different but in 3s Ret is top dog.

It was not my point that Ret never has strong seasons. They idd do but imo for the wrong reasons that dont actually gives them a lasting spot.

What do rets actually add to a team outside the burst dmg/heal? Id want deff/utility that cant be instantly dispelled, support heals that dont cost me dmg. Why should a hunter heal while doing dmg and i only do one or the other? Why are the tools i have as old as the class itself while undispellable minibubbles are handed out left and right on a far shorter CD?

Edit: My point is why should Ret always have a downside to everthing they have? How many years did it take for them to remove the 2 min debuff between wings and bubble and how did it even make sense for that to be in the game in the first place? But ppl accepted that cuz ā€œbubble plate AND heals???QQā€ that even remains today.

Blessing of Sanctuary, Double Freedom, Stun/Blind Removal in form of Blessing of Protection, Disease Removal that counter Necro Shadow Priests, Blessing of Sacrifice? Isn’t it a lot, I think only Shamans and maybe Druids have as much team Utility as Ret.

Now tell me, witch one of those didnt we have since classic? They may have gotten changes over the years but the base functions are the same. The aoe blind is an outlier but at the cost of instant cast repentance, as my main point was… there is always a cost for any buff we get.

When ret burst isent enough does any of those tools earn us a spot? Like ever?

While other classes gets pushbacks, leaps, grips, healing debuffs, ranged interupts, teleports and portals over the expansions, we get a 3 sec pony (6 now with conduits, oh what a great feeling when that gets removed right??)
