A sad day, Blizzard is now banning GDKPs from the World of Warcraft. Concerns of botting and suspicions of RMT have led the community astray.
I therefore propose a more inclusive loot system, an improved version of the traditional (G)DKP that will resolve these issues.
Instead of gold, players should use an alternative currency: Troll sweat
Why troll sweat?
It can be obtained from trolls level 33+, primarily in Stranglethorne Vale which will be the new pvp event zone. Each player will be able obtain troll sweat by leveling up and fighting in the endgame zone of the next phase. Bots however will be frequently killed of by those players rendering them useless in the aquisition of this new currency.
With bots out of the way, RMT should no longer be a big issue. Troll sweat is abundant enough and has a stack size of only 5. Since the sweat will be generated by real players as it should be, they will be rewarded for playing the game the way it is supposed to be played (Killing trolls and ganking each other).
Also anyone spending real life money on virtual troll sweat should seriously question his or her life choices.
By using troll sweat the gold will be distributed among all players that simply play the game in a healthy way, since farming for bots will be impossible in STV. The problem with GDKP was that a large amount of gold went straight from bots into the GDKP bubble. In a way, normal players will replace the army of bots that farms the gold right now.
Nope, it will be sorted via visa gaming outside of the game. No gold trade, no mentions of anything. The only thing on log will be Master Loot giving certain pieces to certain people and that’s it. Just like regular guild run with ML.
Although the not-very-business-savvy will get caught and then persecuted.
Correct. But that leaves us to the similar situation that happened before GDKP or similar third-wheel denominator systems for loot appeared.
I am not defender or aggressor in terms of GDKP, I just see how a system like that appears and remember why these things started to happen.
Also, let’s be real the ban on GDKP was caused directly by GDKP organizers - the more they pushed boundaries, the more they were risking getting slammed. If they kept some sort of tariff for the items and worked out distribution precedence, nobody would bother them. It is just like everything else, you want more and more and suddenly you are deep in and BAM the water closes above your head.
Yeah man, there’s literally 0 botting or gold-buying!!!
That guy paying 198k gold for a Naxx sword at lvl 60 just REALLY LIKES DM Jump-runs.
You wouldn’t get it man.
He’s done like at least 7 of those runs to get that gold!
They will just bet real money in the discord from the paypal. and the betting will be incognito, with a bot. so no in game transactions of any kind would take a place.
blizzard should have embraced the idea or didn’t touch it.
