I was a GDKP organizer. I’m okay with the ban if you want to try this, Blizzard; I’ll follow your lead. Now, I want to ask all of you if you have any ideas on what we should use in our group.
My toughts :
MS>OS: Not rewarding any investment for the player or the org
SR: To me, SR is totally unfair because someone can get lucky and squeeze every item before anybody
DKP: Guild management, unable to take any pick-up.
Description of our groups/needs :
We are a pretty small group of people who enjoy try-hard raiding.
We average a presence of 8-10 people in raid, so we need to fill the last slot with pick-ups. We need a loot system that will encourage people to optimize their characters and actively play the game to obtain gear.
We are not managing anything as a guild because, as an org, I wanted to have the minimum work to do. Finally, I would like something to reward people who are actively helping with raid-helper and group organization."
TLDR: Was using GDKP, I’M FINE WITH THE BAN OF THE SYSTEM, what should we use now as a loot system ?
You can do litterally 10 ID without ever getting the piece of loot you target, having the rest of the raid gearing up like madness and people start coming to your loot.
It’s also not fair for any pick-up. HR is out of context for me.
Also how do you reward people for playing well ? With GDKP I was able to cut them from the pot but it’s not possible with SR ? Or I can cut their SR you think ?
You could do ms>os and sr+1.
Or point system if you feel like that.
Also if you are a guild all gearing up in your “group” will benifit everyone if u raid regular.
its 100 items in gnomer. i doubt people will have all items untill 1-2 months.
People will also probably be less geared due to no more gdkp buying gear.
And im feeling that alot of people will do alts aswell so you gonna hvae alot of groups for a long time before “nobody wants to play”. Also keep in mind that people do speedruns and parses without any loot system involved.
How do you keep active raider that are well geared with those system ?
how do you inspire people to opt for raids and not come with their hands in their pants?
If they raid as a guild, that want to progress trough the expansion together because they enjoy raiding then you dont need to spice it up for them.
You helped me get bis so I will keep raiding until you get bis because we are a guild. Recruiting 10 people with this mentality is not that difficult in my experience, sometimes people move on, or play on an alt but that’s how it goes.
Raid because you enjoy raiding, not because it grows ur wallet.
It is completely fair in the sense that everyone has the same chance / opportunity get reserve and win an item. Unlucky isn’t the same as unfair.
If you have returning players, the more gear they get the less gear they need, increasing your chances of getting other items. Sort of like an implicit DKP.
They should play as well as they can, reward or not. If they play poorly you can kick them from the group, or not invite them another time.
I simply run it with the same 12 people and their Alts, at times taking in Alts into Main raid, and sooner or later everybody has 2 decked out characters.
If a item is shared amongst classes/types the involved players talk it through and its often solved within seconds - since they are all adults and know the next one is theirs.
Usually loot isnt even talked much about before, during or after a raid. Performance is where the focus is, so I’ve been headache free for a good while now.
Nothing worse than people talking about loot when their overall contribution is crap and their endgame is getting it all and quitting.
obshjak runs - the loot is being rolled off to the raid. The winners of the role than pay the gold to obshjak character and that gold distributes among those who didn’t get the loot.
The more loot got distributed the bigger obsjhak and the cut.
