and pvp didnt die its just healer shortage LMAO i think PvP in DF is super alife i think only s2 shadowlands was more alfie but thats because everybody and his mother could hit gladiator or 1,8k for rewards
also no front and no eloshame ofc but u dont have xp right most ppl filter u by archievements outs why would a healer play with u if he has 100 other DPS players in Tool who have much higher XP ? and BG is always alife
The healer shortage is directly related to gear equalization. People are trying to think of ways to incentivize healers like throwing gold at them, but nothing was a bigger incentive than gear upgrades.
You’re not a game designer and aren’t taking human psychology into account. You don’t understand what makes mmos addicting. Carrot = dopamine. Getting a different color transmog doesn’t give the same dopamine burst as seeing your ilevel go up.
Think back, what was the most active pvp season in wow history? SL season 1.
The participation numbers prove it’s another case of “you think you do, but you don’t”.
i disagree with that most ppl dont have this feelingg anymore we are living in 2023 and i am sorry to tell u people value time more its hard to find someone who doesnt buy a boost or gold for items. being locked behind gear upgrades is just a disgrace of time u know what it does? i cant play all 5 healers and only 2 because i dont have time to equip all equal so basically it would shorten healer ques even more

pvp is killed by constant uptime that every class have on targets.

Correct as a casual player I was happy just getting to 1600 in RBGs in SL to upgrade the gear. Now the incentive is gone because no gear rewards.
If you’re skilled you will easily rank up. If you’re hard stuck at 1000 it’s not a gear issue and you don’t deserve max conquest gear. Just like someone who is stuck in LFR doesn’t deserve mythic raiding gear.

Pve and pvp is not the same.
In pve you need better gear to defeat harder bosses and the more you play and gear you get the easier the harder bosses will be.
In pvp you play against real humans where no one likes to lose just because they have lesser gear. Imagine if in the soccer world championship they would say that one of the parties deserved lesser equipment because they where not good enough and the best players should have as much advantage as possible.
Most pvpers around here prefer when the power progression in pvp is based around skill, not whoever has a higher ilvl. (especially not when it also promoted boosting even more, which made it hell for the lower rated players just trying to do their thing/learn)
More players in general SL sold a lot more copies than DF and was a lot more hyped, SL S1 was super popular as PvE’ers also were in pvp for upgrades early on they infact had several BIS pieces, it died down fast in the following seasons however, SL also burnt a lot of players which didn’t return for DF, which makes sense, two bad expansions in a row doesn’t make people confident in returning.
Solo shuffle is currently insanely popular from an overall view, there’s just not enough healers around to make the queues faster atm, the queues aren’t long because a lack of total players, go to any pvp tracking site that’ll show daily/weekly queues, see the numbers for yourself.
Yeah no, that’s because most healers dont enjoy how fast the meta gets, how unrewarding it can be to heal in shuffle when the average dps is a complete
and they likely also get the most abuse out of anyone queueing, that’s a bad cocktail for the average player.
The evidence to back that up? Go to any healer based shuffle/arena post made for the last… many months.

Gearing is rather nice now imo. Ret end of last season and dps queue times are ruining it for me so im just doing 2s cap
Gearing currently is absolutely fantastic. I dont know why people whine so much about DF as a whole, its the expansion where blizzard has listened to the most feedback in WoW history n implemented it into the game afterall with tons of quality of life updates n very frequent balancing which is unheard of in WoW.
Ill admit im abit grumpy that DK is terrible atm since i´d like to play my main, but in DF i know they´ll eventually do balancing since they´ve stayed ontop of the balancing very nicely so i can accept that my class is currently crap.
I remember first patch of BFA, DK was absolutely unplayable and i quit in that first patch because back in those days if your class was crap, buckle down because it was going to be crap for 6-9 months before blizzard graced you with a buff if you were lucky. Since i dident play any alts at all back in those days the game simply was pointless for me to play n i dident return to the game till late in season 3 shadowlands.
People has gotten so entitled and whiney in the community. Balancing is never going to be 100% perfect, hell even if we had a specialized mega AI with the sole purpose of giving us perfect balancing with every single part of the game taken into perfect consideration, people would still complain about the terrible balancing.
No. Class design and server communities were killed. That killed PvP after MoP. People are gone and moved on.
From what I can see most people stopped playing in 10.0.7 when they made rets MANDATORY for any form of pvp in 10.0.7. Completely destroyed all rated pvp ladders, inflated MMRs and worst of all it took Blizzard a full month to nerf them in any meaningful sense. Who wants to play pvp in a game where this happens? Clearly they do not prioritize pvp balance at all.
you are totally WRONG. It’s skill that must be main criteria for a win not gear. Not equal gear caused no-life farmers have advantage just thanks to their gear! Farming gear instead of playing for fun/rewards is terrible
Gear has nothing to do with balancing.
I’m glad that I dont have to grind almost 200k honor to max out the weaker honor gear, and then another 200k for conquest gear.
Per character, mind you.
I stopped playing because of long solo queue times. I’m super happy with equal gear and no people abusing higher ilvl gear in lower brackets anymore
