That’s really asinine. And extremely impractical. It’d end up as a wall of text just to explain the fundamentals of why it’s extremely ignorant, which I’m betting wouldn’t be read due to past experiences so I won’t bother with it. I honestly think gearing is fine.
you have this mindset of if someone has better gear you cannot win, 1400-1600 people are still quite bad.
If you run into an arena game with no real game plan can you honestly expect to win?
my alt was ilvl 201 when he reached 1600 a week ago. Was it a bit rough because of better geared players? sure but they make so many mistakes it can be easy to win.
Now do this to 1800. Only inviting players with max 5 ilvls higher than what you’ve got. Then say how it went. Because that’d be more similar to what some people are forced to deal with for not playing fotm or playing as a healer.
What we dont want is for pvp gear to be so weak ilvl wise that we need to PVE to be relevant.
Nor do we want scaling. Because we just got rid of that and have seen that it doesnt work.
Nothing wrong with Solo que either for that matter.

If you’re at 201 ilvl when you reach 1600, you’re obviously bound to lack more than a few conquest items. Now when you get to 1800 in a week doing the same thing with someone who’s max 5 ilvls higher than you, how exactly are you gonna magically become “challenger geared” on more than just a few pieces before then?
Timegating is a thing. People are literally ahead of the gearing curve thanks to the vault, so if you weren’t there from the start then you’re automatically disadvantaged by default.

enhance + Ret in 2s
Enhance + Warrior + holy pala
You shouldn’t be playing with a healer in 2s. Leave the healers for the monks and warriors
Well my dude, conquest cap for new alts is high. I’m now 208 and 1760 rating, i may have lost a few games to being outgunned but i’m still climbing. Players are still bad below 1800.
they don’t set up kills or cc properly, they run around like headless chickens.
And what have you been playing? Just curious. And what ilvls have your partners had, on average?
I mean surely you must be playing something that needs ilvl to perform properly, since you didn’t even mention the relevance of what you’re playing as when you talked about how gear only matters between 1800-2100.
Because surely you can only really say that when you’ve gone that high with that low ilvl while playing non-fotm and knows what it’s like, right?

Why do you keep bringing up FOTM lol, any class and any of their dps/healing specs can reach 1800, even mistweavers and havoc DH
I never said they can’t. I just said some needs more ilvl than others to do it though.

Try to win a game only using 1 CC each every 45 seconds. Then you’ll see a little more the relevance of ilvl. Not allowed to chain your own CC, you have to chain it with one of the other two if you want a chain.
No convoke either.

Not really sure what to say when you blame everything on gear and “not fotm” then yourself.
No, just how inbred you must be when you don’t realise the heavy lifting spammable CC and convoke skills does to alleviate the weight ilvl would otherwise need to lift on its own. Which is what ilvl does for non-fotm that can’t spam CC like you can, and can’t convoke skills their way to a win.
So try to win a game like they have to. See how much ilvl matters then.
