Gearing up too easy in raid

Yes, because so many people clearly have the opportunity to be boosted for free in mythic raids. Or, maybe not.

thats not the question, the question is why does it exist. Why does a mythic raider make an alt and have him better geared in a week than anyone who plays other type of content 15h a day forever?

Also like I said, its getting more accessible every week when people get bis corruption. I am sure they can soon do 15 man runs with 5 people being boosted, and redo it with their 10 alts. Thats how the top guild make money

I also fail to see OPs point?
Its the end of the expansion. Most people are already geared to the teeth with 475 stuff and etc. So for them to do any heroic or even mythic. I guess +socket and/or bis corruption can still be an upgrade
maybe. So the rest can just funnel the gear to any lower geared player.

Edit:

It’s called being in a “guild” ? Most guilds can offer their members to come on lower geared alts for farm bosses or hc clears(since a lot of people are farming echoes so many mains are also doing them now).

So
gonna ask again. Whats the point of this thread lol?

But the endgame of WoW has always been raiding. Even in classic you would do raids to get gear in order to go out into the world to PvP. Then when the next raid came out you would get better gear and repeat the process

In classic you dont get full gear from one raid, lucky if 1 or 2 pieces

So is the problem the speed of the gearing, or the method (raiding not m+ or PvP)? Because, as many have said, the speed is not a common thing available to any and all casuals. The mythic guilds who can boost people through have already put in hours and hours of work to be able to provide that service to friends/alts/customers.

If it’s the method (e.g. that you can only get 485 gear from 2 final bosses in a raid), then yes, this does seem less ideal. But I don’t believe there’s enough gear from those two bosses to completely gear one character with 485 pieces, so it’s not such a massive disadvantage.

Clearly both.

You should be able to get best gear in game by belonging to the the best PVPer %, similar % that players that have cleared Nya, same with m+. If you are doing ultra high keys, there should be a vendor for “high key coins” or whatever that can get you raid equivalent ilvl gear. And raid drops they are already tuning down in SL afaik.

And these “coins” should be account bound, so you can just send it to your alts similarly that alts get boosted in raid.

Also bis profession gear should be a thing. I dont know why they are capped at 470 for no reason.

Even soda went basically in one day to 2.1k rating inv PVP getting boosted by Xaryu and whoever (tournament players) and can get 470 from pvp chest.

Effort is not rewarded enough for non-mythic raiders

Agreed, but that’s a problem with the whole PvP system. Hopefully in SL the changes to PvP will rectify that

There is a big downside to rewarding m+ in such a way. Because M+ is essentially endlessly farmable, gearing could become just as ridiculous as the raid carries you take issue with

Agreed. Again, hopefully changes in SL with affect professions positively

No, that would be game design breaking. If one does PVP, he should not stand equally among the PVE players and vica vera. Same goes for everything else (dungeons vs raiding, crafting vs raiding). If that was the case, that I would demand getting BiS gear via cooking. The ladder has to exist- You start with normal dungeon, move to heroic dungeon and then mythic, then to normal raiding, heroic raiding and mythic raiding at the end. If the ladder did not exist, guilds and raiding would get devalued and I would just sit there making my cooking and getting BiS gear.

Yeah, guild mates boosting you is basically skipping that ladder, but try to do that yourself. Not that simple. I mean if you joined our guild and asked a boost, we would not boost you, even tho we boost our alts. We boost our alts because we don’t need the gear on mains and having alts geared opens up to combinations.

You can pretty much create your own Mythic pug group on a 450 ilvl toon.

My manners prevent me from doing it, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work ^^

Arguments ? None.

Been playing since BC, and since BC i can boost or be carried to get gear.
Maybe during Vanilla it wasn’t the case, but once again
it’s just vanilla. Created more than 15 years ago.

If you want that version of the game, just go on the dedicated servers.
Every expansion since BC allowed you to be carried.

TBC in particular required you to be carried later in the expansion since there were no catch-up systems. So if you rerolled and your guild didn’t support it, it meant back to Kara

You will struggle to down more than the first 3 Mythic bosses in a pug especially if you have people at 450 ilvl along.

I think the clear answer to that post was that no, non streamers can not do this. Not without spending a ton of gold (or money).

it is not pay to win bcs these ppl who are boosting already won and they are in front of you it is more like pay to catch up , which if u know to play
 u dont need

the first 3 contain a trinket, a weapon, a few general pieces of gear and a super strong Azerite piece for most classes

Sure but the post is about a streamer going from 450 to over 470 in a single Mythic raid. That’s a big difference

This isnt about if you can get boosted. Its about how is current gearing process broken. Yes get boosted but you should never gear up on such fast pace while being boosted. You would get like 1 or maybe 2 items if lucky in raid no this nonse where you gear up in full 470 gear in 1 day. Specialy not when game have pay2win elements thanks to token.

Pay2win = earning power for money. It have nothing to do with wining.

The only way to get so much gear so fast is if everyone else in the raid trades you their gear drops. In a regular raid, you will not see this much loot for yourself.

If gear trading wasn’t allowed at all, it would be extremely frustrating for everyone raiding - if you’re unlucky, you might take forever to gear up and if you get lucky and get showered with loot then it’s likely you have useless loot that you’d want to give to your team mates but can’t. It would be a rather extreme and unpopular method to prevent gearing quickly via boosting.

Doesnt change anything bout fact that there is just too many gear sources and should be vastly reduce across board.
