Gehennas: Long queue

It might come as an obvious thing, that queues on Gehennas are long at the moment, and I could just have chosen another server, but I have been really happy to play there…until now.

@Blizzard Can you please create more layers to the server to bring down the queue?
This will undoubtly continue for some time now…

And please don’t just create Free Server Transfers, as I don’t want to play on a low populated server.

I agree with this thread even though it all seems ironic

I’d love a free server transfer out of Gehennas now! Overpopulated and just a lot of lfg spam. > 50mins to login today and with Wrath incoming this will only get worse.

I paid 25 € for character transfer because Blizz closed my realm I have been playing on classic and offered me only free transfer to dead realms. So I follow my friends playing on Gehennas and now there is 160 min queue? What a joke! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Gehennas was fine until Firemaw came along

Thousands of players who just want to level and try a bit of wrath are back. They tend to leave when raids open though as 5 man take longer to find, and by the time most are in raids they leave.

I was thinking of something.

I am actually an investor on Activision Blizzard, and it could be a bit funny to do one of three things:

  1. Ask at the General Meeting why so little is done to maintain subscribers through playable content. As it’s happening over and over again, that queues are being filled.
Then we can see how the board will answer to this?

  2. Same question during an investor call, where all interested investors are listening in

  3. Same question to the investor relationship department.

It’s day 1. There will be queues for busy servers. They won’t last.

Golden thread. Whoever didn’t see this coming and paid 25 EUR recently to join this mega-realm i have one word: OMEGAKEK!

I hope you actually do it.

I know that servers are being pushed during the release times, but honstly I expect Blizzard to have the capacity to keep up with such demand. This is no longer a suprise for them?

Personally, then I have no professional computer experience, but surely something should be possible? There are plenty of servers with low capacity?

In retail you are able to be “summoned” to other servers, so surely it is possible to connect more servers.

Lastly to answer your question - yes I paid 25€ to transfer to Gehannes, but it was done cause my old server (Horde - Ashbringer) was completly dying, and we as a guild didn’t want to risk transfering to another dying server.

Retail has sharding and doesn’t care if you can’t see the same people around you. It has way less constraints. And knowing players if Blizzard sharded prepatch they would just go ham on farming resources (as sharding is close to unlimited layers).

But with Sharding you can limit the resources with the Dynamic spawns - so if you’re alone, then spawns will happen slower?

I don’t have the perfect solution, though I find it very troublesome that you cannot access the game for 2 hours because the game is overloaded. A situation which should have been anticipated.

On Classic launch I dropped my pre-created characters on existing realm and rolled to the new one created like on launch. Zero queue  But for Endwalker I had to start the login process around 14:00-15:00 to have it ready after work after 17:00 (and if you started login process at 16:00 or later you weren’t getting into the game as queue was like 6-8h).

Likely. Still you would have much much smaller competition on mobs, way better access to herb/mining nodes and could be hard to make a bigger open world PvP without the algorithm going “OMG so many people, make 10 shards”.

What? 0 queue atm guys!

Step 1: Let players spend money to boost on the biggest server in the EU
Step 2: Claim you’re monitoring the Big queues
Step 3: Open free transfer to dead server from queued server.
Step 4: Wait 2-3 months until Free Transfer server dies after influx of players
Step 5: Take more money for paid transfers BACk to big server
Step 6: Release new expansion and go back to step 1.

Common people. We’ve seen it for 10 years now. It’s not a “technical limitation”. It’s business strategy.

Yeah but those from Firemaw were forced effectively by blizzard to take the free transfers. So now Firemaw is dead.

Berny still on firemaw horde having the time of his life.

No queues, fewer layers, tons of allies to gank.
