Gehennas queues are disgusting

I know we’re not the only server with the issue and that in itself is disgusting. A free transfer to dead places is not an option. One of the servers people actually migrated to, Mograine, has hour of queues and is locked as well.
Gehennas starts queueing up at 9:30 am and by noon the queue is 8-10 hours long. That’s competely off the rails. And please no patronizing ”we can’t solve this”. We all know it can be but you just don’t want to invest the funds. You’re fine with literal tens of thousands of paying customers to sit in hours of queues, get disconnected and have to queue up again….

The silence is the worst part. Before, Blizzard were at least keeping a dialogue. Now it’s just pretentious disgusting silence. The last update was during the prepatch. None of that stuff has helped any.

I logged onto Golemagg today 16:10 BST, 1100 queue. Already down to 280 & 4 minutes remaining.

Golemagg was bigger than Mograine pre-WOTLK I can’t imagine Mograines queue is overly long.

For Gehennas like 8K active Horde raiders switched from Firemaw + it was already a full server.

It is what it is, you can’t have 30k people playing at once. Just imagine how laggy it would be.

Not true, sharding/layer techology takes care of that evening out the population. Else Gehennas would be unplayable when we had 20k people and no queues.

Layering/sharding cannot solve this. In the end, there is ONE server instance and ONE database engine which needs to handle this load no matter how you slice it. Layering just splits some parts of the world up to ease congestion but it does not help to process more active connections. The system has bottlenecks which layering alone cannot solve. A solution could be to either have temporary realms and let Gehennas players transfer her for free. Then, when the queue dies down again, they are moved back.

And then it would really help to start sanctioning autoclickers and Raspberry PIs equipped with actuators :smiling_imp: (although, that one is tough to detect)

I knwo layering doesnt solve the current issues because the underlying infrastructure is not sufficient. The real question is why werw the servers facing megaqueues allowed to bloat like this. Blizzard surely have actual server population statistics and knew when it was getting out of hand.

Logged in at 9am today, stayed in all day so that I could play when I finished work.

Finished work, went for a poop. 10 minutes. Came back to find I’m DC’d and need to queue again. Only 441 mins ( 7 and a half hours ) xD kek lmao L rip ded.

You have to watch this stupid game like a hawk all day long if you want a hope of playing. And you have the honor of paying for it

“just transfer to a dead server bro”

I’d rather just unsub. Garbage.

No queues on mograin

Isn’t mograine locked now too?

Why is it you can’t? Nostalrius had 23-25k players and no problem. 5k queue would be like walk in a park compared to 5-10 hr queues in WotLK classic.

I’m not really interested paying a fee for not able to play a game on a server I was able to log in with no problems a week ago.

If people used the transfer then the new server would not be dead anymore.

The queue for gehennas could fill up 1 or two new servers.

well, blizzard is to blame and thats it. thousands of players moved from firemaw to gehennas, blizzard happy with the 25€ from each one, but negleting the fact that the ones on gehennas would have huge queues in the future. the money is there to be invested, blizzard is just too greedy and lacks communication with the public. im stopping my subscription and if i could, i would ask for a refund, as i paid for something i cant use, like buying a car but it stays in the dealership, you have to ask permission to drive it. people work and have lifes and family, cant stay 8h looking to a queue, waiting to be dc’d randomly. or as it happened the other day, i spent 4h in queue, logged in, grabbed a glass of water (took me literally 40 secs) and came back to be dc’ed and in the back of the queue (12k ppl ahead of me). so yeah. not paying for this. what makes me wonder is how streamers and big guilds are 24/7 without a disconnect or even logging out but dont get banned for using softwares like clickers or mobile apps to carry on being ingame. certain money is better than other? maybe, maybe there is an agreement on both sides, who knows. its sad that this company came to this.

You should know blizzard is against everything that costs money. They have investors to keep happy. As long as you keep your monthly sub up, they are happy and nothing will change.

Nostalirus on the other hand, was fan made and people that actually like the game. So they do their best to make it an enjoyable experience for all.

Blizzard only makes choices to please their investors.

dont care, it was easy to sort out. “all characters that moved here to here, get back to where you were you scoundrels” but no, no work done, nothing told, i even doubt there is a gm online during the day.

What about activate Crossrealm Function so it doesnt matter from which Server you are playing. Like in Retail. But i was thinking yesterday why does gehennas have only 7 layers since wednesday and not 12 as before ?
Maybe thats the Reason why we have such a long queue
