Thank you Blizzard for giving the option of gender change for free, but what about the names?
Is it possible for you to give us one usage token for a name change? You use once for free, but then you need to pay.
Or perhaps to have an option to have 2 names? One name when you are female, and another name when you are a male?
I was hoping for something similar, but it could cause some serious confusion in guild rosters lol.
Maybe a 4 week cooldown on every name change for each character or something?
I know what youâre saying and I actually appreciate it. A namechange could be good for people who wanna change gender for free.
But if they make name changes something you can do with no consequences every 2 minutes I will literally lose it. Thatâd literally be the last remaining vestige of identity gone. I literally wouldnât be able to tell which Shaman on my guild list is which. Literally. FML.
Thereâs many reasons why namechanges shouldnât even be a thing. Gender changes for the sake of vanity - fine. Names - nope. Your name in this game is your identity. Free name changes means scammers can scam and then just change their name for free. The game would be rewarding them.
I think namechange costing only one token is too cheap. It should cost at least $100
Yeah, 'cause Blizzard removed all the other parts to your identity except your race and class at this point.
Thatâs kindda the reason I picked Pandaren Female Mage. They barely exist, and so it gives me some feeling of uniqueness and identity in the game world. I wish it was this way for all of you, but it isnât.
But at least we have names. If that goes itâs just⌠likeâŚ

Some people, have chosen their names according to their race gender, we need to have at least one option for those who want to change their gender to chose more unisex name at least

You canât see account names anyway. So someone could have 50 characters and you wouldnât know itâs them.
And many use their character name as a kind of RP.

Me too. In general everyone has the option to buy a name change.
Maybe then they donât get a namechange. 
If itâs THAT important for someone to get a unisex name, they will.
In all fairness, pandaren barely exist⌠the only place I really see them is in the Legion class hall, and maybe 1-2 pandaren shamans hanging around Boralus. No priests, no mages, no warriors, no rogues, no hunters.
Pick pandaren if you want to be unique in your raid group 
(Oh, but you do have to have a sense of humour about yourself and not mind being the âfatâ or âcomedyâ one. Players who tie their ego to how beautiful, scary or âawesomeâ their character looks need not apply.)
Many of us use an addon to prefix anything we say with [name] because we want our guild/community to not have a hard time sifting through our alts Easy name changes would mostly only affect pugs and /s, everyone else would sensibly work around it - or be trolling each other, but thatâs fine in a guild anyway 
I believe the correct term of âGender change but nameâ is âname changeâ.
I dislike the idea of name changes though.
Your name is your identity, your gender is irrelevant to other players identifying you or knowing who you are.
Years ago with cata (or MoP) when more class race combinations were added they gave a single free race change. I used it on a mage and it made change the name aswell.
Itâs possible blizzard will add a single free name change because of this new feature
I dont think it should be without a free name change included, i mean if i swap from female to male it would look stupid to change gender and be stuck with a female name or vice versa

But a lot of players find pandaren a bit silly/quirky/stupid/fat and refuse to play one because it seems to offend their ego or something. Must suck to be them 
I agree itâs not a good idea to let people change name every â2 minsâ. I also agree that itâs not all names work with both genders. Someone previously suggested that you be allowed one name in your male form and one in your female form. It would cut down the amount of name hopping people could do.
At present it is purely an appearance changing option and nothing more. I think if the change name cost was lower people wouldnât object as much. They could pay IRL or grind gold in game to convert to currency to use the service.
It is clear that being able to change gender for free without changing your name is in most cases pointless : someone who cares about having a gender that fits their character better is most certainly going to want to have a name that suits the change as well.
A simple solution would be that the first time you change gender you get a free name change as well. Then you can change back gender whenever you want BUT you will be stuck with the two names (one for each gender) that you have chosen. And you will need to buy a name change if you want to do further changes.
