I couldn’t see a list here so i thought i’d make one. Initial experience with the new systems and its much better than classic UI but there are few small, but glaring improvements that would make life so much easier (and should not be too complicated to implement). Feel free to add to the list: (in no particular order - except for #1)
Talent Trees - there should be an option to save presets for each tree (class and spec) separately - so you can mix and match different presets for different situations.
Cast bars - Target and focus target cast bars should be movable
Experience/Reputation bars - this should be movable/customisable
Bags/menu/guides etc. (bar in the bottom right) - this should be movable/customisable
Unit Frames - Class colours should be displayable on player/target/focus target unit frames.
Profession window - should be re-sizable (they are huge and have a lot of dead space)
Talent Tree window - should be re-sizable (they are huge and have a lot of dead space)
Exactly! Especially your 2. Point is very important for me. I like the new interface and I really want to use it, but something like a movable target cast bar MUST be implemented
Another thing that I would like to have would be single icon action bars - just if you want that special place for that one important ability or consumable. Right now, your action bar needs at least 6 icon slots - it really should reach down to 1.
I have to use the scaling in the graphics options to enable me to read the game text. Specifically quest text. I have to set it to 144% which is its maximum size. This makes fitting everything with the UI in impossible currently.
So things I would like to see are.
Some proper testing by Blizzard with the UI settings set to their maximum as it is impossible to fit everything in.
A way to scale the mini map.
An option to increase the text within the game much like we can do with the chat text.
A way to change the background color within the quest window to make text much easier to read.
With the UI as it is currently even with everything set to the smallest sizes (which causes issues for those who struggle with their eyes) it is impossible to fit everything in. I cant currently fit in the raid frame, team frame and other UI elements currently unless I turn everything down to a level that means I struggle to see it.
I have to move the mini map to the other side of the screen (on the left) to be able to fit the quest tracker in place otherwise the quest tracker drops below the bottom of the screen. That happens no matter what side of the screen I place the quest tracker on as on the right it drops down below the chat window.
Overall I find that the new UI takes up so much screen real-estate that it becomes almost impossible to play the game in an effective manner. Trying to respond to visual queues for things like avoiding AOE becomes a real issue. So does spotting some enemies when they are hidden behind parts of the Ui which take up huge space.
It appears to me that there was no planning or testing done for the new interface with the UI settings in the graphics options set to 114% which is its maximum size.
Found some more: (mainly around the crafting UI and how it interacts with other things)
Interactions between AH UI and Crafting UI - Due to the size of the crafting window you can no longer have AH UI open and actively craft items. Opening AH with crafting UI open, closes the crafting UI. Doing the other way around works, until you craft something, then AH UI closes (assume due to the loot box that appears)
When applying optional reagents, pressing “create” can sometimes remove the optional reagent (got stung crafting a 291ring - 10k down the pan) - caught it on the second attempt and reload fixed it.
Crafting anything “un- collapses” groups that were previously collapsed and returns your view to the top of the list (defeating the point of having the collapse option).
“Create all” and "create ‘x’ " doesn’t appear to work for a lot of items (but does for some).
the whole system feels like it was designed by someone who’s never played the game
When bags are open I am finding the action bars UNDERNEATH get priority, this make it VERY difficult to move stuff into bags and simply grabs and tried to move spells instead.
Not sure if this is a bug or not. Really could use a fix please.
YES !!! White text is awful to try and read.
and
YES!!
I have to change my chat background to black to read it easily.
The same option for quest lists and text would be good, even a quick toggle on/off for a black background to read, then off for general gameplay, would help me.
A stronger colour option in accessibility for map icons and flight masters would be lovely.
1 would make the Clock, Names and Level on the Character / Target Portraits, Tooltips larger and bolder.
2 would stop having transpancy on windows or colour fades. The background on the Character Portrait is kind of transparent so when in a bright area the text is tricky to read.
Neither are massive earthshattering changes but would improve the experience for a lot of players who don’t have keen 20:20 vision and a 32" 4K HDR monitor.
Bring back the choice to track and untrack ALL trackables. Including Innkeepers, stablemaster’s and skilltrainers. Right now they are missing from the tracking dropdown menu and they cannot be untracked. (and no I did not miss the binoculars. they are missing from that list.)
I would love it if I could craft items and have the crafting pane minimised. It kind of kills immersion making something with a big panel blotting out my character.
Yeah. Would have been awesome to have the option to do so. Accessability was supposed to be the main goal of the new UI. Sadly it still is nowhere near as customizable as it should be. The main points of improverment in this thread are really good, such a pity.
