my spec…and yet with 3 freakin ilvl 278 slots you try to give me haste crap AGAIN. I hope your company goes bankrupt with your ridiculous, dysfunctional slot machine.
I would’ve figured that you just maybe give me a proper weapon after all these weeks. But I guess that’s too difficult when you already tried to give me a crap haste weapon MULTIPLE TIMES.
While we’re at it, just remove the “generating loot for spec” message because it’s clearly useless. Might as well let the game be programmed by a bunch of baboons who probably do a better job.
The game has no way of knowing what stats are best for each spec. Especially since those things tend to be very fluid. Stat weights needs to be recalculated after every single piece you get, if you change talents/conduits, get a new lego, etc.
For example, on my Ret Pala, Mastery used to sim highest for me but after i got my 4 set bonus Haste became my 1’st stat and mastery dropped to 3’rd. If i put on the Expurgation conduit then Crit sims highest. Etc.
Of course, back in WoD each spec had a dedicated “main” secondary stat if the form of a passive. But Blizzard got rid of that. And prior to that there was reforging…
I personally find this very useful. I do not want to end up with my vault giving me Protection or Holy gear which would be a total waste.
I realise you are annoyed but you want the vault to work in a way that is not intended. It will pick things off your spec loot table. That does not guarantee the stats will be good.
I think Blizzard need to learn that RNG generates far more rage than joy. Get a BIS item is usually , hmm nice now on to the next thing. Get a non BIS thing, ARRGGH the world should be exploded by a Death-star immediately.
I’ve cooled down a bit and you guys are right but this haste curse Blizzard is afflicting on me with the vault sucks though.
Thing is, I tried very hard this week to get all 3 Mythic+ slots to offer 278 loot. This means I have to do all dungeons on 15+ which can be pretty challenging. Not in terms of content or the dungeon itself but more in terms of grouping. I play on a dead realm, guild is dead, bad M+ spec, no friends, so I have to pug everything which can be stressful (I know excuses, excuses). Fine, also a bit of my own choice but than to be rewarded with garbage loot once more got the best of me.
When it generates loot, it takes into account your armor types and the weapon types you mainly use, as well as trinkets based on (I think) a hidden tag about your spec of choice being a Healer, Tank, Caster or Physical dps.
I do understand the OP’s pain however, a reforge feature like in Cata would be welcome - the tier set stats from Catalyst are however, mostly with the correct stats with each spec. And for your leggo, you get to choose your very own stats as well
I do sympathise; it happens to me a lot that I get offered items I don’t need, even if I have 3x 265 raid slots plus 3x 278 M+ slots. I’ve had multiple weeks of bracers (legendary slot) + ring + neck, all with the wrong stats. Today my warrior got offered his legendary slot, plus the only other slot he already has a 278 tier piece in. My main got a decent M+ int sword… but I don’t have an offhand. At all. Offhands have never dropped for me in 9.2, not once. Several times I’ve taken items for transmog and instantly vendored them because there was nothing of any value.
The vault, while “working”, is very debatable with regards to being “fit for purpose”. It has better than even odds to disappoint players, which to my mind, makes it a really bad gearing system. And it is the only gearing system that matters unless you’re doing mythic raids.
It should be reviewed. I think it desperately needs to do basic things like look at what legendary you are wearing, and blacklist that slot. It needs to never offer 2x rings. Ideally, it should look for the lowest slot you have ever looted, and offer that. Say you’ve been unlucky with boots forever; the vault notices, so boots are the first item available. Never disappointing because it is always going to be an ilvl upgrade for your worst item. Other vault spaces can be more random, but make that first one a definite, definite upgrade.
The problem with the big loot table is probably 80+% of the loot you do not want at all. Look only at the available trinkets. You are maybe interested in 1 or tops 2 (usually a raid trinket wins over them), so ‘every’ trinket in the vault is a disappointment. Especially when you ‘worked hard’ for having 3 options. I still think we should just be able to pick a specific piece from the vault. 3 options is better than 1, but still the chances for something good is pretty low.
You would not believe how many times the vault has offered me 278 or tier pants as well as the same boots over and over. It’s not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it is far better than it’s predecessor.
an easy fix would be the ability to choose wich variant of item you want, lets say you get a gloves in vault,we should be able to choose gloves with critical or haste or mastery or whatever from all gloves existing in loot table.
