Generic question on Heritage Armor

Normally I don’t care about cosmetics (armor, mounts and such), but I’m still a collector (a pet collector, precisely), and as such recently it occurred to me that I could also go for the Dwarf Heritage Armor, since I already had a Dwarf at 120 and with Exalted@Ironforge.

Well, I did the quest line and got the armor. But it seems to me that this is a plate armor. I can mog it to my non-plate guys, but, honestly, a Hunter in plate – or worse: a clothy in plate – looks ridiculous, no?

(As of 20220-09-10, 18:20 CEST: Click my profile to see how ridiculous it looks on a Hunter. I will revert that soon  )

I also got the Goblin Heritage Armor today. It looks a bit better; usable on my Mage and Rogue, without looking too stupid. But also this one seems to be a plate-style armor.

So, the question: Am I missing something? Or is it really like this: Heritage Armor is only really a thing for plate wearers?

PS:

What I had expected (as a noob to Heritage Armor) is that the Armor contains versions for Cloth, Leather, Mail and Plate. And not just one single Plate look for all.

Not all heritage armors look like plates. Worgen heritage looks like a fancy suit for example. Honestly I think making 4 armor sets for all races in the game (even if it’s over a period of time) is unreasonable.

Yep. I have seen the Worgen set, and indeed it has the potential to look OKish for all classes. (Similar to the Goblin set.)

But, so you are confirming what I suspected? (Heritage = mainly Plate)

Think it would be unreasonable to make multiple versions. The Heritage gear to some races looks like plate but others it doesn’t.

Worgen, Kul Tiran, Goblin for example doesn’t.
