Get rid of screen tearing?

This is something that is bothering me since forever, is there any way of getting rid of screen tearing apart from enabling Vsync or having Gsync monitor?

Vsync causes horrible input lag and I dont have Gsync monitor.

It all started with removal of so called “true fullscreen” with patch 8.0. Previously i was able to handle screen tearing via Fast/Adaptive Sync in Nvidia options that trick no longer works for me.
I play on DX12 - it seems like there is less tearing when switching to DX11

Interesting thig is tearing is horrible on Fullscreen Windowed but it’s almost non existant on Windowed.

Here are my specs;
Nvidia GTX 1060
i5 7600k
16 gigs DDR4
ASROCK z270 Pro4
Windows 10, 64

I would appreciate any help on the matter.

On a side note before you ask, UI resets, drivers cleaning, updating, all done to death. :slight_smile:

You kno this causea horrible input lag might be a myth ive done’t testing in various games shooters to like csgo and i cant tell the difference between no vsync and with it on the inputs are the same to me also im actually a big fan of vsync it makes the games feel smoother and use less resources…
Id say just turn on vsync bro the difference is not noticable

Sorry but i have to disagree. The input lag is horrible, for someone who plays and turns around fast and dynamically it’s VERY noticable.

Still looking for tips as of how to fix tearing. It was all fine before 8.0 patch…

Go to your Nvidia control centre and tick the box that says adaptive Vsync. Disable Vsync ingame and enjoy.

Turn off Vsync and set the in game frame limiter to a couple of MHZ under your monitors refresh rate that should help will stop the FPS going over the refresh rate so will mean less tearing, I wouldn’t recommend using the adaptive Sync option in the drivers it tends to suck and have quite bad input lag.
