Getting shafted in first games

I tried healing some solo shuffles today for the first time in this expansion and start out by being matched with players in the 1700’ and 1800’s bracket. This is not a good way to motivate new healers to play. Just saying. Why dont I start in the bottom?

1800 is the bottom.

You better off playing 2s or 3s with likeminded friends/guildies since solo shuffle is usually inflated with the mmr, and it’ll keep inflate until the season ends.

Nice love to see new healer joining in. Also my condolence for playing healer.

Maybe it would also help you to switch to lightsmith to get into healing as a paladin. Its a lot easier to play and has a bit of a self play going with its heavy focus on shields and your build in link totem etc.

Pretty sure after a few rounds with it you will have no problem handling the 1,7-1,8 lobbys and than its just a perk to push faster upwards.

So? I am posting since 2006. It would have been 10k if blizzard didn’t purge when they installed new forum software.

the bottom is 0 but ok

The bottom is 1800 because that is the starting mmr for everyone.

But that makes no sense since I lose rating from losing.

For you its bottom, trust me ive seen players stuck at 1400 in some bga😅

Im sure plenty of badasses consider 1800 as bottom, but I just entered my first SS arena and would prefer to play against other noobs to start and not people “stuck at 1800”. Its going to put a stain on my gaming enthusiasm to first sink to my actual skill level through annoying 0-6 games against healers with much more “dedication”.

Ok i will correct myself and say it’s starting mmr and obviously if you go 0-6 in your first lobby you will end up much lower.

I honestly forget sometimes that there are people that have that happen to them.

you do start at the bottom but you’re basically in your placement games to see where you belong, the only difference compared to wow from league etc is that its harder in games like league to see the elo of your lobby

It should be impossible to lose rating from 1,8 lobby’s until you are Atleast 1,7+. And mmr dropping is good for you as you get easier opponents to practice against.

Just send more games and don’t worry about rating.

I honestly forget sometimes that there are people that have that happen to them.

Your countless hours in the game has blinded you from the reality of casuals. But I would prefer to start out against people with no experience like my self.
