Does this actually do anything cool, or should I remove this ugly af cosmetic? I heard it’s supposed to open up some additional dialogue or something. I’d be okay with that if it was significant enough, but if it’s just a couple of incoherent rants then it’s not worth looking like an idiot for.

Aim of Gift of N’zoth is that, N’zoth gave players a ridicilous looking thing called “Gift” he tests players’ intelligence. If players don’t remove it then they are stupid and not worthy to serve, if they remove then they are a potential good servant. It is an IQ test basically.

That’s what I was hoping for… or being a “gift” from N’zoth himself, I thought it would lower the seriousness of corruptions. There has to be some benefit to looking stupid, surely

I was about to say he’s not controlling me, then I remembered I’m wearing an ugly eye on my face because I thought he was going to bestow some kind of amazing gift on me. I feel like I’ve just been punk’d

When you remove it then you will get toy with the same visual and effect 
Compared to Sylvanas quests there was no option~ keep or remove. No point searching for something that does not exist. There is no player choice and you should get rid of it.

I just had an alt betray Sylvanas and I didn’t play her for a very very very long time after that. Not until account wide essences came in.
I race changed her in the end so I can pretend it wasn’t me that was disloyal.

The “Gift” itslef is, you are now able to understand Shath’Yar (only works with the REAL gift, not the toy) - like shadow priest in their void form, just for you it work always
Sometime you hear whispers…
Some npc dialogue opens up… some of them are disturbing
sometimes you can see shades wandering around and dying… 
Aside that? No
Well you can see if anyone else kept it
I kept it… I hate how it looks but eh, whatever, I see my character’s back usually anyways

It does sound like it’d be pretty cool to at least run around with it for a few days.
Or you can pick that absurdly expensive rare mushroom in Stormsong valley that lets you understand old god gobbles for a little while.
Aye but no hallucinations 
The real gift (not the toy) enables you to understand Shath’Yar, the language of the Old Gods that you hear some NPCs speak.
But in many cases that is translated anyway through voiced whispers you hear.
You can see other players with the gift and they can see you wearing it, for everyone else it’s invisible.
And you hear Old God whispers from time to time.
And certain NPCs have some mumbly-jumbly dialogue for you.
Edit: Apparently there’s more to it. 
I’ve never seen these shades though, even though I still have the gift.
