Gilded Brutosaur pay to win?

I saw a post saying basically this . The person was bragging about how they were in a middle of a m+ run , someone forgot to bring flasks or food or potions or whatever it was they needed, and they were able to get everything in the middle of the run just because someone had the Gilded Brutosaur mount . Now i’m not being salty or anything , but i’m seeing a potential problem with this if blizzard does not do something about it . The problem is players with the mount will have a slight advantage over those who dont , and knowing the playerbase they will start looking for people with the mount or at least one person with the mount . I want to hear your thoughts about this. I think blizzard should implement so that the npc’s turn into the travelers thundra mammoth npc’s during m+ runs.

its pay for convenience… Not pay 2 win.

Your not winning over others in the game just because you couldn’t afford to make a trip to the auction house without a mount.

You also payed a shuck ton of gold/ real money just to save you that trip. I woldn’t call that winning.

Anyway!!! 20th anniversary yay!! :dracthyr_yay_animated:

This happened to me in a +2 on Friday. The healer forgot food and they used my Long Boi to buy and get some delivered. It was glorious.

People also have no excuse not to gem and enchant gear now. Sadly.

Let me just put it straight you guys…

Its not pay 2 win… cause you guys forgot to buy your consumables before doing endgame content -___- …Its pay 2 make up for your mistakes…

Pay 2 make up for your lazyness… Pay 2 not go to the store first before I raid.

Its a convenience mount. Not a pay 2 win one… You could have made that trip and got your own consumables before you entered that raid or m+ on your own…

Pay2 win is to buy better gear… Buy better advantages over others in game that makes you stronger. This mount? Aint it… It saves you a trip to the auction house. thats it.

Depending on how you define pay to win, WoW has always been pay to win, its only a matter of who you are paying, Blizzard or a third party goldseller/boosting service.

This mount aint it though… Its a mount for easier convenience… But your not getting stronger than other players for buying this mount.

Your just saving your self a trip to the AH and the mail box for 90 dollars

Win what exactly?

We have been able to do this with the Long Boi and mail box toys since BfA, it’s nothing new. It also isn’t p2w.

“If you change the definition of pay to win, this is pay to win”

I deplete keys with r3 flasks, is it pay to lose?

Anyways, if anything, people with the mount who are goblins will have more advantage. But again… they paid with gold for the mount

Pay for +17 key

I think the replies to this thread are more accurately represented by “If you act like a complete moron and pretend you don’t know what pay to win is, then nothing is pay to win”.

You can’t put anything straight when you write like a 7 year old and you repeatedly demonstrated you have no clue what pay 2 win means. It’s not just about “getting stronger”, it’s about any advantage.

Well my seven year old self knows at least what pay 2 win actually is so…
I know this because pay 2 win is an actual thing in other games and mmo’s

If you really think paying 90 dollars to spare you a detour to the auction house is genuinly pay 2 win advantage I feel sorry for you.

I know you think you do in that twisted mind of yours, but your comments show the exact opposite. You’re under the erroneous impression that in order for something to be P2W it needs to grant you pure player power but this isn’t the only type of competition in this MMO.

Paying to save your self from an auction house mailbox detour will never be considered pay 2 win for me… I am sorry… Its a quality of life convenience if anything.

No one is winning over me in game. Because they cant afford a trip to the auction house and has to pay 90 dollars to not do so. Get real.

Tbf wow is already pay2win via the wow token, but it’s not as bad as extreme p2w games like Diablo Immortal. For example being able to buy Myth-Track items from the auction house and also being able to buy gold with real money is very very bad combined. Enchants also tend to cost between 1k and 15k depending on quality. Crafts can cost close to 70-100k, if you want best quality. We shouldn’t accept that. Blizzard takes a 7 euro cut per wow token sold and they also determine the prices. They have clear incentive to make it this way.

And nobody would be winning over you if blizz would be selling 639 mythic tier set in shop, because, as i said before and you refuse to understand, the game doesn’t need explicit win states in order to be P2W.
And if you keep insisting that speed and efficiency are not an advantage, where do you draw the line? what if you were able to craft/gather faster? what if your mount was 300% faster than we have now? what if you were able to open your map, click on a point and instantly teleport there with no cooldown, would that still be “just convenience” cause this is the excuse you all use to avoid calling a game you like P2W.

Yeah there definitely are degrees and frankly i don’t even think this mount makes a strong case for P2W but what irks me is when people try to weasel their way out of calling a spade a spade.

If blizzard sold 639 mythic tier set in shop that would be the pure definition of pay 2 win… No question.

Where do I draw the line when it comes to speed and efficiency? Suppose I would draw it pretty fast if you could buy faster crafting and 300% faster flying mount and instant map teleports.

I dont think this mount crosses that line yet though. And we are far from reaching those levels.

Which game is not p2w by this definition?

every game has some element that has P2w tbh nowadays u can say otherwise but it is.
