Gilneas as functional city when?

with functional portals , auction houses and mog/barbers. etc etc.
when? there is allso alot of dark minded ppl who dislike stormwinds infrastructure or the chaotic valdrakken.

ikr it was what i was talking about, but whould it be a functional city hub?

I’ve long given up on other hubs matching SW/Org. They seem to like to funnel us into Orc or Human town.

They’ve had so many opportunities to let other places be hubs too. Why does it matter if we are spread out in our own choice of capital.

At least they let Valdrakken be a fully functioning capital.

It would be a nice themed hub. But unless its going to be the next main hub the next expansion i doubt it will be used much. After all not all cities got proper portal rooms anymore so sw and oggri are just way better for convenience sake

I’d love that but I somewhat doubt it. Even if it had a portal to SW, a bank and an ah it’d already be great. And a barber would make a lot of sense with all that fur… We’ll know soon!

How would you define a dark minded indiviual?
I like Gilneas, do I have to kick the puppy, as a aright of passage, to hang out with you, guys?

spoiler alert:

it is lol. not sure about the AH but on ptr there are vendors npcs etc. i haven’t checked it myself yet saw it on other platforms.

edit: just checked it myself and there are trainers vendors etc. but all ‘‘unknown’’

Do we really need it though?

there are plenty of functioning cities in the game, and most of them are empty.

Tbh, the only thing keeping other city hubs from being functional are portals and trading post

Honestly, I’m a bit tired of orgrimmar and stormwind. Would like to have more variety. Maybe they should try to make the seasonal hubs better, and ditch something like an expansion hub like Valdrakken

Which makes it potentially a good idea to create more functioning cities which can be then re-used for future story content after some time.

Wait… Why don’t they do more assault type world content in the old world and make all city hubs functional with all portals, etc?

This would naturally incentivize gathering at some hubs based on the current assault

For example in the lore right now, vyranoth kind of disrespected odyn. Imagine we have rotating assaults now, similar to bfa, in different parts of the old world, where we have to deal with odyn retaliating for taking his storm dragons away. If they make the city hubs near those assaults more modern and functional, they could give is variety without much work and without splitting up the playerbase.

we could revisit old cities if they get a revamp instead of making new ones like oribos . i love new stuff but they can be a miss.
this or an everchanging faction capital & neutral dalaran type of place that’ll get better and better each expansion

Yeah, I’d really like it, if we wouldn’t default to the same cities all the time. After all, it’s the place we wait for queues, so the majority of the time we spent in the game lol

That seems like alot of work to be creating a whole new city every patch. That will drop off in quality very quickly.

Although, I would totally be up for them making Valdrakken a new central hub. It has everything that a main city needs. I was a little surprised when it wasn’t carried into the expansion.

But I guess since it will be the first city that “new” players arrive at, it could well be.

I mean I’d rather have some high quality evergreen cities of the tribes we have in the game like Orgrimmar, UC, Ironforge, and lesser quality expansion cities that change seasonally, if that makes sense. Don’t get me wrong, valdrakken looks insanely good, but did it need to be that amazing? For example, I wouldn’t have minded, if everything was available in this little village in zaralec caverns

At least silvermoon should be the capital in midnight

You’ll get a tent village in Northrend. Be happy about it!
