When you arrive into Stormwind/Orgrimmar from Exile’s Reach, you get a choice to skip introduction to the city or not.
What they DO NOT tell you is that if you choose not to SKIP the introduction, you’re S C R E W E D. I felt lazy on the first few new characters I made, but now that I decided to check what’s the quest about…
I’m permalocked to BFA
Chromie is unavailable, same with bounty board
can’t skip a single scenario
Seriously. How annoying can it get? At least give a duckin’ BIG WARNING THERE that it will make you experience newbie hell on that character.
Especially since in BFA you’re SEVERAL TIMES weaker than in, say, Legion, thanks to weapons being constantly several ilvls lower (you go into Legion with ilvl 20 artifacts that get better fast and connstantly, into BFA with ilvl 13 heirlooms).
AND you have no access to azerite armor (and thus heart of Azeroth) until lvl 50 (or 45 if you get lucky enough running a dungeon).
You should be able to access chromie after 1 or 2 of the BFA quests.
I did the whole tutorial aswell and was able to play another expansion with chromie time.
You basically go to dazar’alor do the introduction until you put down the banner. Then you return to orgrimmar and go to Chromie (or the alliance equivalent of all this).
I don’t know what you are talking about, I did exile reach on a new character the other day, I didn’t skip the introduction and after finishing it I could talk to Chromie and choose the expansion I wanted.
This. I too picked up this quest in error, had to go through breaking out of jail with Flynn (spoilers), and came back to SW as soon as I’d got the portals up. Chromie was then available.
Took maybe 15 mins all in all? It was actually slower trying to guide that gnome around SW in the first place than it was to get through the BfA intro
I finished levelling my Draenei Shaman yesterday who was locked to BFA and I had a small conversation with Chromie and she granted my wish of never, ever wanting to level in Kul’Tiras ever again.
That’s good I guess. Still, if I didn’t already invest in bags etc, it would just be faster to get a new character than do the unskippable Boralus introduction scenario.
I don’t know. I played through Exile’s Reach on my Undead and upon finishing the quest guided me to Sylvanas or Nathanos… or both, and then to wyvern that took me directly to the sea chase cinematic with Talanji and then straight to Dazar’Alor port. No Battle for Lordaeron, no saving Talanji and Zul in Stormwind.
Well from what I’ve seen, on horde side there’s unskippable Legion intro (that’s 30min+ of time you’re never getting back). At least on the first horde character post 9.0.1 (even if you have 12+ hordies that have been able to skip that before). Haven’t gathered the courage to get another toon through exile’s reach on the horde side after the first.
Haven’t tried horde BFA post 9.0.1… it was bad enough the first 12+ times. Doing it all again, this time without azerite gear? I’d be hard pressed to do it even if someone paid me.
pretty much this. i think i went down and shook that big bois hands. the one who stands next to the mission charter, cant remember anymore what his name is.
If you think you can’t skip Legion intro, then you were not paying attention. When you talk to the guy who sends you to prepare (eat, polish weapon, etc) talk to him again instead of getting on the ship and you will be ported to Legion Dalaran.
If you go to BFA, do the pyramid presentation quest, then after you speak to Talanji near the small table you get the Welcome to Zandalar achievement.
After that you can go back to Orgrimmar and you can talk to Chromie.
Made a bug/suggestion on the PTR regarding this issue since it’s confusing/annoying to go that far and then have the option of Timewalking… guess they didn’t have time/didn’t care to fix this. xD
After Exile’s Reach you need to do BfA intro before you are eligible for Chromie Time. Basicly do everything up until you open portals then port back to SW/Orgrimar and go to Chromie.
