Give us a longer pre patch and end 8.3 earlier

I’d much rather play a longer pre patch with all the new customizations etc. than playing the current state of the game for like 3 or 4 more months.

The pre patch would be something new and exciting and I think it would be better if we had a few more weeks of the pre patch to play around with the new stuff instead of playing 8.3.

Totally agree!
Bring on the new stuff!

I don’t think Blizzard’s development schedule allows for them to release the pre-patch on request. It’s probably more the state of the expansion development and the targeted deadlines that dictate when the pre-patch gets released, and when Shadowlands gets released.

Totally agree as-well!
Plenty of class changes to get familiar with.

Probably ,but i think they can roll it out few weeks earlier and continue working on shadowlands polishing.

But the pre-patch is Shadowlands.
It contains all the client-side data. And everything that is not limited to Shadowlands, like the leveling overhaul, the character customization, and the class changes.
Pre-patch and Shadowlands development are pretty interconnected. If one is ready, the other one is basically as well.

Yes that is correct!
But they can rearrange priorities ,basically focusing on “back end " then releasing pre-patch and then switch to " front end”.
Not to mention data collection during pre-patch which can be used for tuning.

Historically speaking, it rarely seems like Blizzard has much room in their schedule to move things around – and certainly not with the intent of releasing something faster.

At this point in time, when they’re basically in crunch, working from home, probably with an internal deadline looming over their heads that says “Before the holidays!!!”…it’s probably not the best time to sit down and try to change priorities. They’re likely racing to just be done on time.

I… actually agree there. The pre patches are usually my favourite time of the game. So playing one for longer sounds great to me.

Both coding and visual department can work from home just fine,in fact many companies were practicing work from home before covid.
Sound department ,oh boy i can imagine they having hard time.
There is no replacement for proper sound studio and people working next to each other.

And lose the 100% xp buff? Hell no.

That’s the only reason I’m still subscribed at this point.

With pre-patch comes the level squish, the new leveling experience, and all that entails.

You’re not just losing a buff. :yum:

Oh… Thought the level squish and new “leveling experience” didn’t come until Shadowlands.

Nah, pre-patch is all the systems changes and basically any content that isn’t in the Shadowlands.

I would love to have the levelling squish as part of pre-patch, and an early/longer pre-patch, to level every race and play with customisations. It would give me so much to do before the expansion hit.

I’m levelling them anyway but for me it’d be more fun that way. I’ll try it out in beta hopefully

I would rather have a longer 8.3 but I guess it sucks for pvp players :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
