If I have character Bob and character John and want simply to swap their names within my own acc and realm, I have to pay to change the Bobs name then pay to change Johns name then to rename my changed Bobs name to John then to change my changed Johns name to Bob…

I bet lots of ppl have lots of alt and they at least once wanted to swap their names.
This would be a good service during this 100% Bonus XP event and Shadowlands when you can level up alts faster and think about changing mains.
What’s the point in picking a character’s name when you create it if you later want to swap it? Imagine the confusion of sending stuff to characters.
“Ok, lesse. I have this on Bob - i mean John - and I have to give this to John - no i mean Richard - and Richard has to give all these mats to John, - I mean Bob.”
Because in time you may want to change your main character (especially now with the XP bonus event when you can try new classes and level them faster). Some of us want to stick with our original name.
Someone may take it during your normal 2-3-4 name changing procedures
I’ve swapped names before, I believe I had help from a GM for this, but not exactly sure. If I recall correctly, they will change your name to something like when your name is reported, so you can then use the name change.
But how swapping names is a scam? You can do this with simple name change now, without swapping your alts names.
I scam a guy with my character Alan and I change my name to George for 10 EU.
And if you think about it, with switching names , if you report a guy, his name will still be there on his acc, just a diff class. (and I dont think scamming with name changes are possible at all in first place).
Accidentally misspelled the name of one of my characters. The one i wanted is now reserved on a “alt” so it would have been nice not to have to spend 10 euro just to fix one letter.
I love it. I still hear it even when I havent played for months.
