Summary: allow us to position individual buttons of action bars wherever we want.
Screens have become big Blizzard…I realized I am looking way too much at the bottom of the screen to look for my CDs - and basically I am kinda unable to look around the world and see all the beauty blizzard built.
So I want to arrange my buttons in an arc around my toon - and no I don’t want to use an addon.
It would be nice if blizz offered this option out of the box.
While we’re at it, I would like to be able to set alpha/transparency with a slider on my action bars so they are there, but I can make them slightly see-through.

This is a good idea. Either this, or make it so we can add more bars, and be able to set any amount of buttons, instead of minimum 6 as it is now. So it would be possible to have a bar that is one button.
Great idea. Create your bars with the number of slots you want. Also increase the number of bars as the one thing I love is to have a specific bar just above my portrait with consumables.
We kinda are already able to do so. This is how my action bar UI looks like:

Ignore the controller buttons displayed, it’s WoW detecting my gamepad while I actually play Diablo 4 rn. Which btw is also something we already have in WoW. Controller support.
I appreciate your input, but you misunderstood.
You are showing positioning THE BARS (this we already know).
I want to position THE BUTTONS from within a bar.
Probably do it with a weak aura, which unfortunately will stop updates with Midnight.
Possibly not the answer you’d like, but you can simulate that by having for example:
- Action Bar 2 to the left part of your character, place only 6 abilities, and make it not show the empty slots of the other 6.
- Action Bar 3 to the top part of your character, place only 6 abilities again, and again make it not shows empty slots
- Action Bar 4 to the right part, you get the idea.
That would allow you 18 abilities in a Π formation with your character appearing “inside” that Π

Well, you kinda can. You can limit the amount of buttons showing. Depending on how many action bars you are using, you can make seperate “groups” for skills, as I did.
On my screenshot sent, from left to right (each individual action bar):
- Bottom Bar: Core rotation skills
- Left top: Defensive CDs + Racials
- Top Bar: Major CDs for DMG/Healing + Consumables/Trinkets
- Right top: Utility + Mobility
- Bottom Small left/right: Out of Combat items, mounts and consumables.
Unless you speak of making individual buttons on different spaces of the UI. That’s something that we can’t do and likely would only really be possible with a bit of a hit to UI performance.
But that’s what addons are (still) for.
The only thing that u need to be able to see is xalatath feet .nothing else matters
again, I appreciate your attempt…but this is not revolutionary. We already had that.
I am asking for something different.
In the end I made an addon myself that allows me to do this.
