Hello fellow death knights and hopefully devs. I would wish that something was done with this talents damage so it would be more competitive against the others.
I tried playing with glacial advance with obliteration build 2h and god it feels good to have that extra button to press. It’s a good option against frost strike especially in aoe situations + it gives a stack of razorice.
I would love if this was baked in this talent is just what we need, a rp spender that does aoe damage. But if that’s not an alternative I would at least ask for a damage increase.
The talent has been dead for such a long time that I forgot about it. It’s just perfect for the 2 handed monster obliterate build.
it is designed not to be a big aoe nuke but to, specialy for 2H, aplie razorice debuff and thats fine. even if it did no dmg its still a 15% buff to OB crits with KM rank2
this alone can make it worth geting the talent for pve at least if ur using a 2H
That’s true I didn’t think about it that way the razor ice apply is another reason why this talent is so amazing right now.
But even with the 15% extra frost damage and it still is not enough I would wish they made it more competitive/viable. It’s just sad if it stays untouched another expansion at that just shows it needs some love.
How about just increase the damage and rp cost or just increase the stacks of razor ice it’s gives? I think it’s hart to reach 5 stacks in m+ and for that reason my wish is that they just increase the amount of stacks it does.
I can only speak for myself but I kind of like it when you have a option for a single target and a aoe runic power cost spell.
I wish this talent made Frost Strike and aoe ability, similar how Arms warriors can pick Whirlwind in their talents, which then also Slams a target - basically two abilities mixed to one, without needing an extra button to keybind.
The animation of Glacial Advance is bad, but perhaps GA has some use for 2H, however, I will still mainly prefer GS especially because I am going to combi that with RW related lego and conduit for M+ content.
Clearly this is a talent for 2h builds and could be good in some situations, but mostly for pve.
For pvp…simply crap, especially for arenas. Stacking too slow, low dmg + you can miss sometimes. For bgs gathering storm is no1 in that row, so no use in bgs either. But if they had done something like Unhollywood mentioned, a talent that would have added some range + aoe and razorice into frost strike, then it would have been a whole other story.
While it’s very likely that gathering storm will be the go to pvp I wouldn’t write off GA just yet. Once stacked that 15% could be devastating with oblit damage.
Considering all the modifiers we’ll be getting at max level, I’d say that GA on 2h frost could potentially be amazing against melee comps. Our obliterates will be brutal, not to mention chill streak added on top of them.
It is true that 2-H can this way have at least a some kind of tool to get Razorice effect which can be useful in some situations. However, it is interesting to see could this open also DW a possibility to have 3 runeforges in use at the same time. Okay at the moment it looks like this will not be the case but it is also hard to predict what will happen later within SL expansion.
If at least stacking would go a little faster, then it could be good for pvp in some situations. If they add faster stacking + dmg, then that would undoubtedly be one of the best things ever for 2h fdk (even dw fdks would have a hard doubt what to choose in that row). We’ll see
