You gotta make compromises to get what you want out of the devs, things gotta fit what they want from classes
I love the idea of using a shield with a 2h, swapping it on and off in combat
Been playing Neverwinter Nights 2, and there’s a feat in there for it, I think it’s called Monkey Grip
There always needs to be a balance in defensive abilities, so I don’t think you should add 10% damage, but rather reduce the debuff to 5%, and make any new shield specific abilities usable when you have the stance turned on

maybe arms could have a talent like the druid spec x affinity
talent e.g. guardian affinity that would allow arms to have gladiator stance like play style?
