Glyph System to customize animation

Hello together,

what would you guys think about a glyph system that let you choose animation of ablities.

Of course only animation that have been already use for the ability in question.

One example would be for paladins:

I miss how the old judgement looked / felt, or the Divine Storm. Even the Templars verdict I liked better Back then :man_shrugging:

Don’t know how it is for the others classes and specs.

Let my know what you would like to see again with your classes

Edit: just saw this comment in the US Forums about this topic :

“New graphics settings have already been discovered for SL, which tone down other people’s graphics. With that not being a factor anymore, it’s the perfect time to restore some favorite animations/effects. With the use of glyphs there is literally no downside.”

I completely agree that they should do something about the animations. For example, when Cataclysm came, human “jump attack” (example: crusader strike in wotlk) was replaced by a dull attack animation.

Yeah! And it looks awful…
Crusader strike has the worst animation across-the-board.
Zandalari and belf have this Sissy circle dance -_-

Yep, they should definetly look to re-add old animations for both the spell and character model animations / sounds. I miss Cataclysm Templars a lot. They should also add color variations with the glyphs.

Not sure about the colors, but the animations yes!

I think everyone would love that and would an amazing customization.
The majority of players would love that I guessed

I mean, the warlocks get green fire, why can’t paladins get blue light? And so on.

Good point though.

Would be pretty nice.

But I think for the beginning only the existing old animation would be awesome already to customize. And I think It’s manageable work.

they just have to do SOMETHING with inscription and at this point i dont even care what it is.

inscription used to be my favourite profession and now…eh, it floats dead in the waters. :unamused:

inscription offers so many possibilities for cosmetic changes in the game but blizzard just doesnt put effort in it (as usual).

i would absolutely love to see more cosmetic changes through inscription.

And the cosmetic changes for animation would be the perfect solution for that!

I wish blizzard could think of that themselves

I agree.

It may sound crazy but I actually stopped playing my Paladin when they updated the attack animations (as well as when they added holy power resource spender) and every time I’ve tried a Paladin, no matter the race, the animations feel too Disney. Too cartoony. Yes, WoW is “cartoony” but it never had goofy animations before.

Whoever the developer is that designed the attack animations and even the run animation for Human males for example, needs to go back to the drawing board, personally. This is another reason why I enjoy Classic still (animations.)

idc what they do but the new incinerate is DISGUSTING AND VILE AND HORRIBLE

plz FIX IT

TRUE! Warlock animations were my favourite before. Chaos Bolt and Rain of Fire seems fine but casting Incinerate looks so weak or something…

by today’s standards old incinerate would look super outdated. but all they had to do was upgrade the details on the tbc-mop version and call it a day. now it looks like nothing.

i also loathe the new chaos bolt animation. it looks like a blob of mucus lmao

well…yeah… spell animation, different spells like doe or penguin, transmog looks, more buffs, consumables etc.

the limit is your imagination really.

and for heavens sake they should reintroduce class specific tabs. i dunno who thought removing them would be a great idea.

getting an anorism when i try to find a specific glyph or something. upsets me every time! here i go again…

edit: or maybe mounts. i d love a flying book similar to the tailors flying carpet.

Exactly that’s why I would like to see the customization choice via glyphs.

I think it wouldn’t hurt anybody to have some more choice.
