GM's need to be shaken up. (games masters)

like i said above, i recently had a similar experience and ALL i gave the gm was the server they were on. but they were able to look on my account and see what toons were there. so im guessing the data is on the account if the gm looks in the right place. and im guessing the gm in that guys case didn’t know where to look, but my gm knew and thus i could recover 5 toons deleted in 2009.

i dunno about if the toon was deleted in classic, but the gm told me that anything below 50 was indeed deleted, and i was lucky because 4 of those 5 restored toons were EXACTLY 50. so your info is correct.

rant, ty -_-

this is the issue i asked them about. there are 2 quests, one from 1.1, and one from 8.2. i presume the quest we’re getting at the start of AV now is from 8.2.

i agree, there are some people who might be really lazy and make a ticket about something stupid. but like i said above, i would think that most people with any cop on would rather an answer after a 5 minute google search, rather than wait for a ticket up to 24-48 hours. isn’t the answer for EVERYTHING these days first “do a google search”? not just in wow, but for anything.

ive submitted it as a bug as well, but the problem with bug reports is that they dont get answered. even a simple “we’re on it”. and as we know, some bugs can stay in the game for ages. like months or years.

i can understand their position as i work in an industry where larger companies buy out the smaller companies all the time, forcing existing workers into a messed up position of TUPE (of which most TUPE workers leave before 2 years, in fact most dont last a year) or losing their job “voluntarily”. so like i said above, if the GM’s are under a boot, the person with the boot needs the shake up.

its rare that the problem is at the bottom of the chain. like they say, pay peanuts, get monkeys. so take the NHS for example. they have MANY problems. i doubt a lot of them would be fixed with fixing the lowest link in the chain, the nurse or receptionist who interacted with the patient. the problem starts with a manager way up the chain.

like i’ve said many times before, Ion just looks like he doesn’t care anymore and is just riding the money train till the end of the line. while he is not ultimate decision maker for blizzard, he is high up enough the chain that he should be able to pull a bit of rank.

WHOEVER is at fault here, they should take a hard look at themselves and treat us as better customers. cause thats what we are at the end of the day, not friends, not buddies, customers. the only difference between this product and another product is that enough of the customers are hooked one way or another that currently, blizzard can treat their customers like excrement and get away with it at little or no loss.

why am i not surprised? i remember explicitly my first bad experience with a GM. it was in the MoP prepatch. i had played wow on a dongle for nearly 6 years at that point but now the lag was insane. even in an empty area like the zone north of EPL and west of ghostlands that isn’t named on the map. i was basically told “dongles dont work anymore, if you dont want to get a landline, then goodbye.”

that sealed my resolve at not liking the look of pandas and i quit for 2 years. i dont remember any other bad experiences with gm’s till late legion.

dont get me wrong. i have said there are good gms, both past (my experience in TBC) and present (getting my deleted TBC toons back). BUT there seems to be more and more bad attitude from them currently. either that or me and the few people i know are REALLY unlucky. one friend from US who plays on EU servers followed up my request on dead servers. he was told, verbatim, if you are not happy with your current server, go back and play on US servers.

and this is only 1 of about 2 dozen replies i, or friends have had in the last year or so where the reply is either so generic i could google search it for where they copy and pasted it from, or snarky attitude like me to my dongle, or my US friend.

blizzard management need to look at their souls. not soul searching, just look at the type of PERSON they are.
