It has never been a joke… it has always been bullying by people that hate gnomes for the most ridiculous reasons and make you feel bad/uncomfartable for choosing that race. It is the trick however to turn it around and make them feel bad or just simply pissed off so they no longer have joy when they bully you.
Never, gnomes, vulperas and goblins should be reminded aboot the fact that many players don’t like them !!! CRUSADE !!!

If you actually played the game, you’d know that Vulpera can turn their hands to just about -anything- and are the ultimate survivalist/problem solver types.
But that would involve getting over whatever the latest internet websites tell you to think problem…
People who hate on Gnomes really need to get a reboot, go through puberty, and do Adult right the second time around…
