There seems to be an ongoing Gnome pride on Alliance side when it comes to guild names. About half of the Alliance guilds have a Gnome-related name, while names relevant to the other races are few and far between. I have seen a couple Stormwind-related names and some related to Proudmoore, but that’s it.

I am not sure why it is this way, but the Gnome pride is not reflected by the Alliance race players are picking for their characters. Are we Gnomes simply the toy mascot of the Alliance?

I always assumed you were the footballs of the Alliance… You are for the Horde.

Yes, alliance players prefer to play velfs and draenei, because gnomes don’t feel right in Goldshire Inn.

You would think so, but I never got indecent proposals on my elves and draenei, only my gnome ladies :laughing:

I think people see gnomes as intelligent and resourceful, but also a bit more light-hearted than other races, and like the association with the gnome stereotype.

If not for the weapon scale issues, I would have a gnome character. Sadly, that lousy thing keeps me from making one.

Gnomes are awesome! We are mocked and we just laugh at you. You try and kill us and we come back stronger. You declare war on us and then we destroy your fleet and help kill your King. You try and punt us and we bite your foot off.

Reason why Sylvanus left us Gnomes alone. Her and the jailer fear us.

Well until the mechagnomes, I personally haven’t seen fit to give them the time of day, since they’re continually portrayed as a joke race in WoW. Pretty much all the other alliance races have been preferable by a large margin.

What’s he got to do with anything or anyone on Azeroth? As a nature god, it doesn’t seem he’d have much involvement with a race focusing on steampunk technology, even if he was on Azeroth.

Gnomes are great.

A portion of the playerbase see us as a joke but do not let it get to you… Even after the disaster of gnomeregan we sticked togather and never asked for any help from our friends of the alliance while were still helping the alliance with everything.
Maybe the blood elves can relate to this after their disaster of silvermoon when arthas almost wiped them out but all other races dont even know how much we endured…

It’s only “rhetorical” because you don’t want anyone proving you wrong. Well I will.

  • Gnomes carried the Alliance through BFA.
  • Gnomes invented airships, allowing the Alliance to attack Icecrown Citadel and dismantle Deathwing.
  • Gnomes created most if not all of the Alliance’s firepower. Horde would have won ages ago if the Alliance didn’t have Gnomish technology.

What has your tubby dumb dumb race done?
