Gnomeregan is overtuned

Idk seems fine for me

Of course you cleared it, you losers. You are invested enough in this crap to write on the forums! You have your dbm’s, WAuras, bis talents from class discords and consumes. “Skill issue”, “well I cleared it” and all the other e-peen increasing shabang won’t change the fact that game’s basically a retirement home for people who keyboard turn and click on their abilities with a mouse. These guys never installed an addon in their life and they sure as hell won’t start doing it now. WoW team catered to “make it harder daddy” crowd already, you can check out the results yourself. If it goes the same road - we’ll lose the “50 yo dads with 10 kids” demographic again. We need to preserve them! They’re very fun to gank.

I have already tried explaining this to people on forums before. Forum dwellers are either unable or unwilling to grasp the simple concept that their experience and gameplay are by no means anywhere close to those of the game’s actual playerbase, and they are but a vocal minority. The developers themselves also seem to forget that, and we’re in a situation where the only people who give feedback are people who cannot serve as an accurate representation of an average player.

Mate you’re just too lazy to make a group, just like 80%+ of the WoW playerbase.

What Windfurybtw suggested is indeed a good option, the best one even: make your own group. It WILL solve the issue you’re claiming to have of not being taken into raids. This is 100% true.

If you are still too lazy do prefer crying on forums rather than taking what is an effective solution, then it’s no longer the raid’s meta comp problem or anything else besides you.

I call BS on this. Like, for sure really.
You’re saying that you try to make a raid, invite people in, they join, and they go “oh lemme just check the leader’s logs. oh hang on, he aint have none! YO MISTAH LEADAH, where dem logs at?” and /leave party? Even if they did indeed check the logs, they would not be straight out saying: oh, no logs, kthxbye. They would just leave without a word. At most, I can assume one (1) entire player did that. More than that one single player, it becomes incredibly hard to believe.

Maybe, MAYBE!, You just didn’t (don’t) have the patience to form a group, and so make up some excuse to make you feel sure about your decision. Just maybe…

All you did was invent imaginary scenarios too now.

Yes people literally go “is this your alt?” I say no then they say “sorry I don’t wanna carry people” or “sorry I’m looking for others with xp”

P1 had a raid and PvP event where everyone could enjoy it with strategies easily discussed and learned over chat. It was like letting kids out in playground to have fun.

P2 had a raid where communication on Discord was needed to coordinate strategies and call out the bomb pillars, etc. The PvP event brings much more attention to the right spec and coordination as well. Now, it’s akin to taking kids to the theater.

While both could be great experience I would prefer the one in P1.

I am not a good player, cleared gnomeregan on the third pug try(first group with discord), but I am affraid my friends who are also pugging will drop out of game as some bosses are just stressfull for bad players.
It would be great if blizz would choose different approch for example on electrocution if the boss will reduce your output by 70% for 15-20 sec if you personaly screw the mechanics instead of wiping the raid if you miss it. It would still be challenging and making fight long, mana intensive for bad players, but much more doable. I dislike those one shot mechanics where 1 slip from one player will cause you wipe.

Bro I don’t care about trying my hardest to enter lvl 40 raid, I should do everything in my power to enter it and most likely have really bad time in there? Nah, I used to make bfd pugs all the time because it was easy and because I did it already. And because I knew on average decend pugers will carry worse players we get. If I am gonna get gatekept cause of my class is rogue after taking time to get bis it’s okay. I will come for phase 3

I think most people (on the forums) are adressing the issue the wrong way.
You have two dominent arguments:

  • Gnome overtuned, Bfd good
  • Improve your skill, get a guild

The real issue is different. Its not about skill oder beeing overtuned. Its about the investment that is needed to do something.

Some say “I did gnome on first try without prep so you should get better”. This is a consequence of the person having invested a lot beforhand. Beeing it learning about the class, movements, configuring addons, having played a lot of raids in retail (or other games) and so on…

While on the other hand players are feeling that gnome is “overtuned” because they havent invested into the game, their character, a guild or the preparation for the raid.

And preparation takes time. And that is anoter factor. Some people want to use their available time for other things. Having Bfd done withing 30-60 min was great for those people.

But the focus of SoD is PVP and the RAID so its obv that at these points there two “factions” will clash. Blizz needs to take a clear stance what they want with SoD. Phase 1 was more for the relaxed players, Phase 2 is more for the prepared players.

By not beeing clear about that, they cause frustration within the community.

You’re just lazy

High raid difficulty means harder time organising raids, more gatekeeping and log checking and a more toxic culture

SOD should be about fun, not spending hours looking for the right players to raid every 3 days

in my humble yet sexy opinion, gnomer is mostly pretty good.

our guild (all boomers with slow hands) is able to clear 5/6 without a wipe. the last boss though… so far we never got him down.

he is a tough nut to crack that does not forgive mistakes (not like a suzuki sv650 #best bike). if that dude could be a lil nerfed on the raid dmg in phase 1, it would be much easier. also maybe give the pillars a cooldown of 30 sec.
he hits like a truck but its doable as a tank.

the trush on the otherhand, is a bit much without a AoE group. It drags a bit after a while but it’s ok.

kind regards

It’s a little overtuned, but it’s fine. With the armor nerf it’s gonna be easier.
