put drenor profesion buffs aside, is this even ress people anymore ? i cant even cast it on people in dragonfight, btw i dont have enginering i was enginering before but this item never had enginering to work before.

you should have got a goblin engineering device yes it costs more ofc but they are more reliable
yeah knife also has a fail chance so you might just be failing
You need to be an Engineer to use the rez function and it also have a chance to fail.

OP, you could instead craft the engineer bracers, slot the res tinker (and anti-catastrophic failure addon) into them, and use them on any character, whatever their professions.
All my characters without a native combat res get these bracers and tinker, because it’s always better than a 0% chance to res the only other person with CR.
You never could use the army knife to res if you weren’t an engineer to my recollection since atleast late WoD.
Otherwise I would have had it on all of my alts.
The problem is that you don’t have Draenor Engineering.
The very first Gnomish Army Knife that you craft as an Engineer in WoD is “blue” and gets the rez function, but every subsequent one is “green” and only gives the profession bonuses.
So, quite normal, it does offer a rez, but only for characters with Draenor Engineering.
