Going back to “basics” will be even worse that we have now.
Sure Classic is all nice and etc. But people go to Classic with the expectations of seeing the Classic experience. Same as I would go to an old car museum to see some old cars and be even fascinated by them…but I am not expecting to take that, rusty non-air conditioned and lacking all other “modern car” features, to work every day though.
Sure. I don’t agree with every action Blizz has done. But the demands players made in 2004 are vastly different than the current playerbase has.

Yeah but kill x amount of y stops when you hit 60. I don’t need to do dailies or mundane WQs to gear in vanilla. I haven’t done any quests since I hit 60.
Actually it doesn’t really, depending on your class/profession farming mobs for mats and golds are part of the 60 routine.

You have Classic and as you can see it sucks hard compare to modern game, not saying i would not be happy for some changes but just do not make another Classic from modern Wow . . .
Basics of mmo before 15 years are just too old and stiff and never will work in modern games.
MMO changed over the years just like players. . . .

Farming mobs for profs and gold isn’t the same as kill x amount of y quests.

To be fair, people complain about the time-gating but think back to TBC and dungeon/raid attunement. Not specifically gated but some of them had very long quest chains and then for heroic every person in a group had to be revered with a different faction for each dungeon.

Just play classic. Retail wow will only become worse.
alot of the problem with the game is the global cooldown, it should not be getting decreased via haste because the game was meant to have a 1.5 second global not a 1 or below global, even rogues had 1.5 initially.

there are a lot of good things that have come out of ‘‘nu-wow’’ post MoP but they have tinkered a bit too much with the tried and true
