I am looking into making a new alt and I really like priest (Partially because I can play all three specs reasonably well).
Looking online, Goblin is one of the better races to min-max my PVP with, but I was wondering how to make a convincing character out of a Goblin priest.
Am more inclined towards Disc than pure shadow, so I was thinking of making a young guy who’s seen both of the ‘big powers’ of the universe in Light and Shadow, and is now making deals with both of them so that one day he can try and get himself into the upper echelons of goblin society. Given that both Light and Shadow respond to willpower, enough determination towards this goal might make it all work.
What do others think about that potential story, and how have others played Goblin priests in the past?
My personal view, the Light doesn’t like to make “Deals”, the Light likes full control. Whereas the Void will make “Deals” knowing it will get what it wants in the end.
Fair enough I suppose, but the ‘deal’ would be in the goblin’s head rather than anything necessarily real. I mean - the Light doesn’t seem to care greatly who uses its power as long as they have conviction to use it.
Most of the time, we’ve seen light users on a scale of slightly a zealot to full blown zealot. Goblins have never felt like the type who would have conviction in anything besides their own profit.
Just like Goblin Shamans, doesn’t feel right with their “Contracts” which keep the elements with them.
My goblin priest is not making deals with supernatural powers. He’s just a priest for hire. He will conduct weddings, wakes, etc. for any denomination that’s willing to hire him (except Twilight folks, those guys are nuts). The only thing he really believes in is gold and that being really rich would let him buy into the best afterlife.
You could even go the other way entirely and have all his priestly businesses be a complete sham (and aided by a few convincing gizmos)! That’d give you the freedom to play the style you prefer too.
