what if you level a goblin mage up until u unlock the mage portals in the starting area of goblins, could u then just teleport out of there?
Don’t you need to learn teleports at a trainer? Also at that point you should be out of the zone anyway.
Just get a Warlock to summon you out of there (or better yet be the Warlock that summons you out of there). Recruit a Friend summons work too.
The game tells you before you accept that you won’t be able to return so I believe it’s not a bug/exploit.

Yes I can launch the PTR to check that for goblins/worgens, too lazy to do it.
I once leveled a goblin so i could get their bike mounts.
made a warrior. Reached level 40. Made it to orgrimmar. Bought the mounts. Deleted the character. I’ll never make another goblin again.
The starting zone was horrible.
You learn portal and teleport for your character’s racial capital automaticly. If portal/teleport to your racial captial doesn’t exist(i.e goblin) then you get portal/teleport to Stormwind/Orgrimmar. All other portal/teleport you have to learn from a portal trainer. So technicly if you get high enough level to get the teleport you should be able to teleport out.
i have a level 1 goblin in Ogrammar i left the goblin start area a warlock summoned me to Ogrammar 
Or just choose exiles reach on all races with bad starting zones
goblins have the best starting zone in the game imo

well. Not in my opinion. But that’s the beauty of this game. 2 people with completely different opinions about something and neither being wrong.
IF you really enjoy that zone, then great. Have fun playing there for as much as you please.
